Chapter 54 - What Should I Do if My Younger Brother’s Crush Has Taken a Liking to Me?

Chapter 54 Sitting helplessly, Xi Ning's head was forced backward, her back devoid of support, her wrist unconsciously draped around Kong Nianxi's waist, stiffly leaving her lips apart, allowing her to coil around her neck, playfully teasing her tongue. Unlike the unexpected kiss three hours ago, the young girl seemed to have found the knack, teasing her oral cavity more skillfully and confidently. The autumn wind outside the window brought in a fine, rainy sound, the warm light pouring overhead as their gazes met, allowing for a clear view of each other's bewildered expressions. The softness in her arms carried a faint warmth, and Xi Ning gradually realized why it was customary to close the eyes when kissing. However, the damp, panting breath next to her ear didn't allow her to lose focus for a moment. The delicate arms tightly wound around her neck and the embrace at the back of her head made her spine feel a little weak. The deeply penetrating warmth left her feeling somewhat weak, and a gradually rising dizziness nearly made her fall back onto the bed behind her. Although this wasn't the first time, this level of wet kiss still largely exceeded Xi Ning's comfort zone. She could easily solve a difficult math problem, but when it comes to kissing... she felt she was truly no match for Kong Nianxi's insight. The ambiguous voice by her ear made her blush, tempting her to shy away. However, her body's instinct left her hesitant to release the hand circling around her waist. — She didn't want to push her away. The girl's enthusiasm seemed untiring, kissing her with focus and tenderness. The stolen oxygen between their lips and teeth left Xi Ning gasping for breath, until she belatedly felt she was about to suffocate. Kong Nianxi then leaned softly against her shoulder, her breath more rapid than Xi Ning's. "Have you learned?" asked Kong Nianxi. "..." Xi Ning's mind was in a mess. "It's actually very simple," Kong Nianxi chuckled, kissing her fair skin near her eye. "Remember to use your tongue to tease me." "..." Xi Ning abruptly pushed the girl sitting on her legs onto the bed, blushing and standing at the bedside, watching her, "Why are you...?" Kong Nianxi lay on the bed with her silky long hair spread out, squinting and giggling, "Why? What is it?" Xi Ning pursed her lips, not knowing how to respond to her unabashedly stunning smile. "Goodnight," she mumbled, moving to the other side of the bed and lying down, sounding sullen. "Okay~ Goodnight," Kong Nianxi licked her lips, not teasing her further, turning off the light and lying down beside her. "But you didn't seem to be panting much just now." After a short while, Kong Nianxi thought of something and spoke up after the silence, "Could it be that it wasn't your first kiss?" Hearing this question, Xi Ning inexplicably felt a flash of anger, and blurted out, "Of course, it's my first time." Afterwards, she felt a little awkward for her belated realization. "First kiss, and you already know how to adjust your breathing? Is it... a natural gift?" Kong Nianxi furrowed her brows in confusion and skepticism. Xi Ning puzzledly furrowed her brows, "Adjust breathing?" Her understanding of kissing probably only revolved around fleeting scenes from movies and literal meanings. Almost everything else was alien to her. However, based on the context, she understood that the other person was probably referring to the act of gasping for air when experiencing oxygen deficiency during the kiss. "It seems like you've grasped it naturally. Very promising." "..." Xi Ning was still confused when she heard Kong Nianxi's faint sigh. "So, am I destined to be pinned down by you in the future?" Xi Ning coughed a few times, almost choking. "So, it's a predestined height...," Kong Nianxi continued speaking nonchalantly, before being gently covered by Xi Ning, her hands over her lips. "Don't... don't speak, let's sleep." Xi Ning's voice shook a little, pressing her palm over Kong Nianxi's lips, attempting to stop her from continuing. However, the other person struggled with a soft chuckle and licked her palm. With a start, Xi Ning rolled to the edge of the bed, clutching a thin blanket, preparing to get up. Kong Nianxi noticed and quickly hugged her, coquettishly saying, "Alright, I won't bother you anymore, let's go to sleep." "..." After a brief standoff, she lay back down. Kong Nianxi lay quietly beside her, brewing the desire to sleep, and Xi Ning breathed a sigh of relief. The bed in the bedroom was large enough for three or four people to lie side by side without feeling crowded. Xi Ning lay by the side, her senses filled with a faint scent from the bedding, much like the fragrance on Kong Nianxi's body. The night outside the window was thick, but despite the late hour, Xi Ning, who never stayed up late, kept her eyes tightly closed, finding herself not only sleepless, but unexpectedly alert. This night was quite crazy for her, as she had crossed a line she never dared to imagine, and things hadn't unfolded in the expected direction, but rather... had been led to venture "astray" by Kong Nianxi. She found it impossible to resist being teased by her, and yet, the more she was swayed, the more she felt the "danger." Nevertheless, she had to admit that being with Kong Nianxi gave her a unique feeling, a feeling that was lively, interesting, and one-of-a-kind, urging her to hold onto it forever. Even though she was used to a mundane, conservative, and routine campus life, she was willing to break that for her. Even if such an attempt might come with some as-yet-unknown cost. A dim light seeped in from the gap in the window curtains, and the room was quiet. She then heard a faint murmur by her ear, causing her eyelashes to tremble slightly, but she remained with her eyes closed. "Xi Ning?" The soft murmur echoed in the quiet room, and Xi Ning's eyelashes trembled slightly, but she didn't open her eyes. "Xing Xing... Ah Ning... Darling... Baby?" "..." "Are you asleep?" Xi Ning hesitated for a while, but eventually opened her eyes. A warm breath approached, and the hand under the thin blanket was gently pulled, entwining their fingers. Kong Nianxi's arm was tightly snuggled against her shoulder. "I'm so happy today~" In the serene room, the soft voice reached her ears: "Happy in a way you can't imagine, the kind of happy I want to share with the whole world." "Good thing you confessed to me, otherwise..." Remaining calmly shut-eyed in the darkness, Xi Ning quietly held her breath. "I would have been unable to suppress my fondness for you." * The next morning, the alarm clock by the bedside burst into a frenzy, Xi Ning lifted her heavy, weary eyelids, intending to lift her arm, feeling a similar tingling numbness and stiffness. Kong Nianxi was resting on her arm, still asleep. Xi Ning stared at the face close by, and was momentarily stunned. She had fallen asleep very late the previous night, and she didn't know how the two of them ended up so close. Kong Nianxi was resting on her arm, nestled in her embrace, her long hair slightly disheveled, but it didn't overshadow her exquisite and enchanting features. "Ugh... What time is it now?" Perhaps awakened by the alarm, Kong Nianxi furrowed her brows, sleepily snuggling closer to Xi Ning. Xi Ning freed her numb arm and turned off the phone, "Seven o'clock." "..." Kong Nianxi usually didn't get out of bed until noon on weekends, and being woken up so early had left her in a sour mood. She sulkily dropped her gaze, while her comfortable headrest was taken away. Half of the suppressed low pressure in her eyes dissipated. "Can you not set an alarm on weekends and let me wake up naturally?" Xi Ning looked at her, paused for a moment, and said, "I naturally wake up at seven too." "..." Kong Nianxi slumped onto her pillow. "If you're tired, you can go back to sleep," Xi Ning said softly, intending to get out of bed. However, she was held back by a hand on her wrist and waist. The voice behind her was tender and whiny, near coaxing, "Can you accompany me for a while longer?" The husky voice sent shivers down Xi Ning's ear, erasing any hint of drowsiness leftover from the previous night. After sitting stiff at the edge of the bed for a while, Xi Ning was left feeling quite lost. The process of adjustment seemed to have happened faster than she expected. After a while. "I should go home," Xi Ning hesitated and said. Kong Nianxi wouldn't let go, murmuring, "It's not that urgent. It's only seven o'clock, and today's a weekend. Stay here and go to school with me in the afternoon." "..." Xi Ning paused and said, "My bag is at home, and I still need to... go back to finish my homework." "Homework?" Kong Nianxi muttered to herself, the word seemed to have no sense of existence with her. Xi Ning struggled to free herself, intending to sit up, and hesitated. She never slept in on weekends, especially not on the weekends of odd-numbered weeks. Normally, she would wake up at seven in the morning, have breakfast at half-past seven, study English after breakfast, do some exercise, then work on her homework, read books on her planned reading list after lunch, and usually had to be back at school by four o'clock, even for other arrangements. Now, everything was different. "...Should we go downstairs for breakfast together?" Xi Ning stood by the bedside, pursing her lips, her gaze drifting left and right. "After eating, I won't feel sleepy, and, early to bed and early to rise makes you healthy." —But it's only seven o'clock! She didn't sleep early last night! Kong Nianxi pouted slightly, and grumbled in her heart. She sat on the bed, staring absent-mindedly at Xi Ning for quite some time, before finally compromising and grabbing her messy long hair, smiling brightly, "Okay." In order to have breakfast with Xi Ning, Kong Nianxi, for the first time in history, woke up and cleaned up at seven o'clock on the weekend, and then went downstairs after getting dressed. At seven o'clock on a weekend morning, the street downstairs, primarily dependent on nearby schools for business, was desolate and deserted, with few people. Due to last night's rain, the sky was gloomy and chilly. Stepping on the damp road, Xi Ning looked at a few breakfast shops that had opened around and turned to Kong Nianxi, who looked drowsy and puzzled. "What would you like to eat?" Rubbing her eyes, Kong Nianxi looked innocently drowsy and suggested, "Let's have rice noodle rolls. There's a particularly delicious place up ahead." Following behind her, Xi Ning couldn't help but chuckle when she saw the slender figure swaying and stumbling with every step. She went up to support her, "Are you really that tired?" Kong Nianxi turned back and tried to widen her eyes as she looked at Xi Ning. "Of course, I am tired. Do you know that I didn't sleep at all last night...?" But she stopped abruptly. Xi Ning, curious about the rest of her sentence, still had her hand on Kong Nianxi's arm, but was pulled back as Kong Nianxi intertwined their fingers, saying, "Let's go, you're buying me breakfast this time." Author's note: Sorry, but I... um, yesterday? My aunt got married, so I didn't have much time to write.
