[Volume 4]: Chapter 103 - A Sweet Girl Won’t Be Fooled By The Villainess

After finishing the important matters, it was time for some fun! Although Amelia said she would take Ifia to see something 'great', there was no immediate intention to leave. Instead, she took Ifia around the town of Camus, to see the local ice sculptures. The indigenous people of the Camus territory did not have many skilled craftsmen, so the finished ice sculptures were not particularly exquisite. However, they compensated with some clever tricks. They placed torches within the ice sculptures, making them appear to glow from the outside. It was quite beautiful. Unfortunately, it was daytime… the effect would be even better at night. However, the town of Camus was small, and there weren't many things to do. In less than an hour, they had toured the entire town. Satisfied that Ifia wouldn't be left with any regrets, Amelia then took the reins of the spirited horse from the captain of the guard, Fuerman. Wanting to accompany Ifia for some fun, Amelia intentionally changed out of her long dress and put on more practical clothes. Gracefully mounting the horse, she looked so confident and spirited that one couldn't bear to take their eyes off her. As the white snow swirled around, Amelia, dressed in riding attire, sat atop the horse with her long silver hair blowing in the chilly wind. Her amethyst eyes, sloping downward, exuded warm affection. Observing the attention on her, Ifia couldn't help but chuckle, her dark eyes fixed on Amelia. She instinctively reached out a hand toward her. The horse was so tall that Ifia felt she couldn't mount it! There was no way unless she abandoned her dignity and clambered up, using both hands and feet. But with the guards of the Baron family watching carefully, Ifia felt she needed to save face. After Ifia reached out, Amelia immediately understood. She moved her horse forward a few steps, then quickly bent down and, reaching out, swept Ifia up onto the horse's back. Once she had placed Ifia in front of her, Amelia galloped away. Soon, they left the guard members far behind. Before riding, Amelia had made it clear that they need not follow after. The guard members were accustomed to obeying orders, so they didn't raise any objections. Ifia initially thought it was because they feared the noble's power, but later she realized it was likely because these guards knew how strong Amelia truly was; they were not needed for her protection. After all, these guard members were sent by the Baron family and were more aware and trusting of Amelia Carloy. As they rode wildly away, the town of Camus gradually turned into a blur. By the time they had left everything behind, Ifia saw nothing but a white world around her, except for the dim, overcast sky. Ifia couldn't help but wonder what "great thing" Amelia had brought her to see. With these thoughts in mind, she tugged at Amelia's sleeve, unable to resist asking, "Amelia, how much farther is it?" "We're almost there." After Amelia's words, the galloping black horse suddenly came to a stop. When Amelia lifted Ifia down from the horse, she looked around again; it was still nothing but a vast expanse of white snow, with no other colors in sight. Ifia was perplexed once again. She had no idea what Amelia had in store. "Here we are." Seeing Ifia's bewildered expression, Amelia's lips curled slightly upwards. Instead of putting Ifia down, she continued to hold her and took a few steps forward. After these steps, the snowy ground began to sink, revealing a not-so-narrow river underneath, completely frozen over due to the weather. The solid ice made it perfect for skating. (---) This is it? Ifia shook her head gently, immediately denying this possibility. There was no need to come here specifically for skating. However, just as Ifia was thinking this, Amelia indeed placed her on the ice. When Ifia's feet touched the ice, she was dumbfounded. Amelia, still smiling, took Ifia's hand and guided her as they walked on the ice. As they moved, the ground beneath their feet suddenly lit up, making Ifia look down immediately. And there she saw the magical scene!!! Under the solid ice, there were countless tiny blue fluorescent lights, concentrated beneath Ifia's feet, continuously rising and falling in the water. (:;) With this, Ifia no longer needed Amelia to guide her. She gazed around in amazement. Then, she tentatively took a few steps forward, and the blue fluorescence moved with her. Every time she lifted one foot and placed it back down, the fluorescence below the ice would gather and cascade upwards. It suddenly became fascinating. Seeing the blue fluorescence unable to break through the ice and not making any sound upon impact, Ifia's courage immediately grew. She swiftly glided and danced, making the blue fluorescence move with her at a rapid pace. "Amelia, this is so much fun!!" Ifia played with the blue fluorescence to her heart's content. When she finally tired herself out and returned to Amelia with flushed cheeks, still excited, she reached out and hugged Amelia's slender waist. She clung to her, being particularly affectionate. Since arriving in the Camus territory, Ifia had rarely gone out; naturally, she hadn't had the chance to play like this. Although she didn't feel upset about staying at home, who would refuse the opportunity to enjoy themselves? In bringing her here, Amelia obviously wanted to bring her joy. It was also a chance to dispel some of her pent-up frustration. Tonight, she would sleep well! Hehe, Amelia cares a lot about her! "It's good you enjoyed it." "Amelia, what are the blue fluorescence under the ice?" During their rest, Ifia curiously asked, but Amelia put her index finger to her lips, indicating that she shouldn't inquire. Seeing this, Ifia's lips twitched, indicating that she understood. It must not be something good after all. But whatever, as long as it was fun! After a thoroughly enjoyable time, witnessing the aurora with Amelia at night, they finally returned to Derva City by carriage. The journey was almost the same as the one they took to the Camus territory, with no surprises, and they weren't in a hurry to return. It was a very relaxed journey. Finally back in the royal city, Ifia lifted the curtain of the carriage window, excitedly watching the familiar city walls, bustling with people. She was finally home!!! After a long journey, all Ifia wanted was a hot bath and a comfortable sleep. However, after lifting the curtain, she quickly noticed something that caught her eye. Why were Prince Carloy's people guarding the city gates?
