[Volume 4]: Chapter 63 - A Sweet Girl Won’t Be Fooled By The Villainess

Ifia would never let a coin slip through her fingers. After she had begun planning and returned to the palace for the spoils, Amelia reluctantly agreed to send someone to fetch it. Given the chance to avoid making an extra trip, Ifia was more than happy to oblige. This time, as they rode in the carriage, Ifia didn't sit opposite Amelia but took no hesitation in sitting beside her. She raised her hand and clasped Amelia's arm, leaning her head on it to rest with her eyes closed. The past few days of intimacy at the office had made such contact second nature to her. It made Ifia grow clingier. Of course, she maintained her tough facade as usual, only attributing it to the elevation of their friendship. Taking in Amelia's exclusive sweet scent, Ifia felt both content and a little excited to be meeting Saint Tiffany, whom she hadn't seen in a long time. During her time at the church interning, Ifia hadn't had much interaction with the Saint. However, the Saint made quite an impression blindfolded by a white silk ribbon! Different from Amelia's resplendent beauty, Saint Tiffany exuded a sense of holiness and approachability, much like a warm sun. It was hard not to feel compelled to draw near. But in Ifia's heart, no one could compare to Amelia. Even though the overtly dazzling Amelia was a bit like a wicked demon. Well, a demon that sucks people's vitality. She was close to being sucked dry!!! Sudden thoughts of their intimate contact over the past few days made Ifia blush, but she pretended as though nothing had happened. Thankfully, she had her eyes closed, resting, and didn't give away any unusual reactions. To divert her mind from that, Ifia quickly tried to think of something else. This visit to see Saint Tiffany was due to a previous commission to pick a holy lotus. At first, Ifia had considered keeping one for herself, but she unfortunately found out she was allergic to them. Initially, she didn't feel anything after picking one, but during a rest in the carriage, she suddenly felt suffocated and couldn't breathe until Amelia removed the lotus from the carriage, after which Ifia immediately felt better. So, even though Ifia was reluctant, she had no choice but to give up keeping a holy lotus. After all, her life was much more crucial than a mere decoration. However, the considerate Amelia quickly found a replacement, a black stone that could emit light. Although it emitted a faint red light, it created an eerie atmosphere, but the convenience of being able to turn the light on and off with a simple touch made it the best gift from nature!!! After successfully diverting her attention, Ifia thought about various things and eventually, in the slight swaying of the carriage, she began to feel drowsy. She ended up falling asleep, leaning against Amelia, who was unguarded. After a while, Amelia turned her head, looking down at the defenseless Ifia and gently pinched her soft cheek. Then, her finger traced over the mark of the holy lotus on Ifia's neck. Because she had decided to keep Ifia close by, Amelia had used a minor concealment spell to hide the mark. With less than two days remaining until the holy lotus matured, Amelia chose to stay with Saint Tiffany for easy access to pluck and separate Ifia from it when the time came. Despite having the power of light within her, Amelia didn't want Ifia to bear it for too long because it required bodily warmth. If it weren't for the fact that the lotus would wither when touched by a demon, Amelia would not have wanted to seek help from someone else. To address this, she had sent a demon ahead to warn Taramati to keep her tail in check. "Don't corrupt the little guy in her house." The naturally lascivious snake demon always seemed to be in heat at any given time... She didn't want to think about it, yet the thought made Amelia's face darken momentarily. When she got back, she would definitely kick Taramati out for a few days and let her come back later! Amelia silently planned this while Ifia, who was supposed to be sleeping in her arms, was being restive, nearly losing her balance. Amelia quickly reached out and caught her in time. Thinking for a moment, she then held Ifia in her arms to ensure she could rest more comfortably. During the time the lotus needed to be nurtured within her, she couldn't give it the power of a demon's soul. Consequently, Ifia often felt fatigued these days, but it wasn't very noticeable when she had something to do. Thinking about Ifia's seduction plan, Amelia chuckled and shook her head. Ifia could always bring her various surprises. She had slept all the way comfortably in Amelia's arms. When they got off the carriage, Ifia felt a bit reluctant to leave, wishing to continue lying down! Most would use a lap as a pillow, but she straight up upgraded... hehe~ Because the carriage bore the emblem of the Baron family, they made their way to Saint Tiffany's residence unopposed, even driving directly into the church without hindrance. "Amelia, does Saint Tiffany live here?" Looking at the place in front of her, Ifia found it not bad at all—an off-white, two-story small building with vines climbing up its exterior walls and big pink flowers blooming everywhere, very beautiful. However, its isolation location-wise—this being the only house in the vicinity—was not quite suitable for someone with the Saint's visual impairment to live alone. Hearing Ifia's question, Amelia looked up and saw that since her last visit, the desolate and dilapidated place that had been uninhabited for so long had changed remarkably in just a few days. Setting aside the rest, the pink flowers climbing up its exterior walls weren't common flora; they were Enchanting Dreamflowers. A kind of expensive magical plant that could bewitch demons and monsters. It seemed that Taramati was very satisfied with the Saint, going through the trouble of getting these for her. They could prevent attracted demons from coming near the Saint. "The Saint is rather special, so it's normal for her to live secluded. Go ring the bell!" As Amelia wasn't particularly concerned with other people's emotions, she gave Ifia a pat on the back and gestured for her to move. Ifia nodded and took a few steps forward, reaching out to ring the doorbell. Soon, the door opened, and they finally met the Saint. "Nice to see you again, Ifia." After some time apart, Saint Tiffany was still as divine as ever, not quite like a mortal. Green ribbons bound her eyes, leaving only her high bridge nose and slightly pale lips visible. Not surprised by Ifia's arrival, Saint Tiffany instead greeted her warmly with a gentle smile. This, however, made Ifia suddenly feel a bit at a loss, as if the Saint's smile had an overpowering impact, akin to the feeling one got when they wanted to kneel in front of a sacred statue. "Hello, Saint!" Lucky for her, Amelia arrived just in time, gently placing her hand on Ifia's waist, providing a sense of security, causing Ifia to quietly breathe a sigh of relief. In front of Saint Tiffany, Ifia always felt a bit uncomfortable and restricted. Thankfully, she had Amelia!!! With Ifia feeling uncertain, Amelia remained indifferent and instead brought up something else: "Where is your caretaker?" This was to keep Taramati from showing up. As a result, she didn't mention a name, only using the term "caretaker" instead. The Saint's unexpected answer was, "Ran away from home." Surprised by this turn of events, Amelia didn't press further since she didn't want to see Taramati, and decided to leave it at that. However, Ifia, curious, quietly observed the caretaker, thinking to herself that this caretaker had quite the personality. Running away from home? Hehe, a rebellious minor, are they!
