[Volume 5]: Chapter 8 - A Sweet Girl Won’t Be Fooled By The Villainess

Ifia was still in a daze when the immersive plot fragment took effect. Blackness enveloped her for a moment, and the next second, her vision returned to find herself in a different setting. Looking down at the familiar blue brick street and then around at the surrounding shops, Ifia quickly confirmed that she was on the main street from Dalva City to the palace! She remembered it clearly from her previous trips. The street was bustling with people coming and going, but Ifia, who had just been through a breakup, couldn't blend into the noisy and joyful atmosphere. Instead, she felt disheartened and wanted to crouch in a corner and draw mushrooms with a stick. T~T Not only was she heartbroken by Amelia's deception, but even the dog system was now picking on her! Jerks! Did she really look so easy to bully!!! That darn system; just as she refused, it declared the mission a failure and promptly sent her into a random character plot fragment. Ifia seriously suspected the system was colluding with Amelia! Otherwise, why would it immediately announce the forgiveness task when she had just seen through Amelia's deceit? However, considering that the system used to shrink back in front of Amelia and dared not speak, If they were in cahoots, the system wouldn't be so fearful, would it! But, considering the system's tendency to issue tasks related to Amelia, Ifia clenched her fists with anger! Previously, she naively thought that the system's missions could improve her friendship with Amelia, making their relationship better. But now that everything is clear, the dog system just wants her to capture Amelia's heart. Make Amelia fall in love with her! As for the reason behind the system's actions... Ifia had no idea. After the system tried to sell her on the mission's failure, it promptly issued the task to capture Amelia. Even if Amelia's real identity is a demon, it's not like she can casually destroy the world! Just a mere demon. Passed! While Ifia pondered the true purpose of the dog system, the scene before her suddenly blurred. She had experienced this a few times before and knew it meant the plot's timeline was rapidly contracting. When the surroundings returned to normal, she found herself still on the main street. The timeline hadn't shortened much, the day was still bright, and even though she had been standing in the crowd, she now found herself standing on the rooftop tiles. The lively noise of the street crowd still existed. A black cat lying on the rooftop caught Ifia's eye, looking extremely familiar. It was none other than Asmod, Amelia's black cat. Surprisingly, this time the random character turned out to be a cat! The two-story height wasn't that tall, and looking down, Ifia could see the crowded people on the street, waving bouquets joyfully and cheering. "Miss Bailen, you are absolutely amazing, I love you so much!" "Miss Bailen, please look at me~" "Congratulations to Miss Bailen for repelling the neighboring country's army and leading the West Empire to a great victory!!!" "Haha, Miss Bailen is truly remarkable, may the heavens bless the West!" While Ifia observed the surroundings, she suddenly heard a burst of enthusiastic cheering from the street. Then, the last few words she wanted to hear entered her ears, leaving her crestfallen. (T_T) She seemed to have just heard the name of the bad guy! Ah, even in the plot fragment, why did she have to encounter Amelia! How infuriating! Ifia raised her hands to cover her head, her cheeks pouting with frustration, and then squatted in place with an indignant look, exuding an aura of resentment. However, some keywords made Ifia curious. Has the West Empire been at war with other countries? Back in reality, the West Empire had a decent relationship with neighboring countries and would even exchange goods for trade. How did they end up at war all of a sudden? It was really intriguing to see what had transpired in the original plot! Because Ifia experienced the original plot in a soul-like state, she couldn't have a conversation with others, or even move too far away from the black cat Asmod. Thus, she could only hope that the passersby could provide more information. Next, she looked up with curiosity at the street. Of course, she didn't want to see Amelia, just out of curiosity. (=_=) She didn't care how Amelia fared in the war! While Ifia pondered this, Bailen Amelia appeared. A pure black helmet concealed her silver long hair, and despite wearing a black light armor, her figure was still evident. The baptism of bloody warfare had made her even sharper and more indifferent. She was like a drawn blade with an aura that kept others from getting too close. Riding a tall black horse into the city, she led the way, followed by a group of soldiers marching with great vigor. The people waiting around the street looked at her with admiring and worshipful eyes, and their cheers grew louder. This made Ifia sour. Hmph, even if she was attractive, she was still hypocritical. Moreover, Amelia Bailen wasn't even human! If they knew she was a demon, these people would definitely run faster than anyone else. "Tsk, Ahriman is truly mighty, indeed a great lord who I, Asmod, serve!" Just as Ifia silently ridiculed this, the black cat lying on the rooftop suddenly spoke, astonishing her. She couldn't believe Amelia's cat could speak like a human! Wait, serve? Could this black cat also be a demon? As Ifia stared intently at the black cat to figure out what it was, Asmod didn't linger. It soon stood up, yawned, and then leapt down from the roof. For it, two stories high was as easy as pie. This left Ifia pale, as she had experienced the thrill of being forced to jump off a building. Because she could not stray too far from the random character, she followed Asmod from the rooftop to the street. As Asmod ran, she moved, and she quickly reached the front. As if her soul passed through a wall, Ifia appeared among the excited crowd. Just as she stood still, she heard the sound of hooves approaching, quickly making her feel uneasy. When Ifia slowly looked up, she saw Amelia, riding a horse, quickly coming before her. Seeing Amelia's expressionless face up close, Ifia grimaced sadly, thinking of being deceived foolishly and realizing she didn't want to see Amelia, whether in reality or in the plot fragments! Just as Ifia was about to turn and leave, Amelia, who was riding forward, suddenly pulled the reins and stopped right in front of Ifia.
