Chapter 453: Witch Tea Party - Socially Anxious Witch in the Apocalypse
The Cosmic Tree, referred to as such, could in fact be considered an unimaginably vast world unto itself. In a sense, the saying "a world in every leaf" comes to life here. Each leaf here is its own world. At the top of the Cosmic Tree lies a meadow, where a three-story villa stands. Beyond the villa are some vegetable gardens, and a little farther out is an orchard, lush and thriving. In front of the villa, a table has been set up today, adorned with various exquisite fruits, red tea, and rare delicacies. Gazing at the luxurious spread on the table, Su Luo Li felt tempted to take a bite, but she restrained herself. For opposite her, a witch clad in the robes of an Astrologer had arrived. With just one glance, Su Luo Li felt as though her every secret was laid bare before the other. "You're quite fortunate," the Astrologer praised, picking up a grape from the table and tossing it over. Su Luo Li caught it in a hurry, and only upon holding it did she realize the terrifying energy of the laws contained within it. The Astrologer commented, "Su Miao isn't stingy with you, it's just that this grape isn't for ordinary consumption. This smaller grape, though, you can eat. Although you'll need to sleep for about 3,000 years afterwards, the benefits are immense." Sleep for 3,000 years? Su Luo Li stared blankly at the grape in front of her, unsure of whether to eat it. Yet, having it in her hand, the urge to eat it grew stronger. "You still enjoy teasing people," remarked a witch with long pink hair tied in a side ponytail, who had just arrived. She was holding a magic book with very unique runes, which made Su Luo Li hesitant to look at directly. "Wear this bracelet, and then the grape won't harm you," she said. "By the way, you can call me the Illustrator." She smiled warmly. "Thank you," Su Luo Li replied, accepting the bracelet, putting it on, and eating the grape. Indeed, nothing happened; the terrifying power of the grape didn't harm her at all. The Illustrator asked, "Where's Su Miao?" Su Luo Li responded, "I don't know, Her Highness left this morning, and I have no idea where she went." The Illustrator turned to the Astrologer, "Do you know?" The Astrologer shrugged, "No idea. Not everyone's fate is something I can observe, like yours, for example." The Illustrator glanced at the empty seats, "There are three empty places here. Who will be joining us?" The Astrologer poured herself a cup of red tea and took a sip, "We'll know when they arrive." Minutes later, a witch in a schoolgirl-style robe with twin tails arrived, "Hello everyone, I'm the Lost Witch. You can also call me the Detective or the Summoner." The Astrologer chuckled, "Oh, you're the one who routinely summons ancient demons to question them about directions home." The Summoner retorted, "What do you mean by that? I was simply asking for directions, but they all claimed not to know. And seriously, you've blown up the inner world several times, causing me to lose my way repeatedly." The Astrologer replied, "I knew nothing at the time." The Summoner sighed, "I don't believe you." Taking a sip of her tea, she asked quizzically, "Strange, this tea party was organized by Su Miao, where is she?" The Illustrator and Astrologer shook their heads, indicating they didn't know. Furthermore, there seemed to be another seat, possibly indicating the arrival of a new witch, but nobody knew who. At that moment, a witch with a face like an elf, tied with long, white twin tails, approached, "Hello, I come from the depths of hell. You may call me the Hell Witch." The Illustrator, Astrologer, and Summoner greeted the new Hell Witch with smiles, "Welcome to the Witches' Tea Party." With elegance, the Hell Witch took her seat, "Thank you." Seeing so many witches, Su Luo Li felt overwhelmed. After eating the grape, her legs felt a bit weak as she sensed the overwhelmingly terrifying fluctuations of the laws around her, realizing even the slightest movement might end her life. The Illustrator waved her hand to send the magpie out of the tea party's range, "Little Luo Li, why don't you go play outside for a while?" The Hell Witch apologized, "I'm sorry, I can't control it well for the time being." "No worries," said the Astrologer. "Oh look, here comes the main guest." The witches turned to the void, where Su Miao emerged with a bucket of water. The water emanated a pure life essence and a profoundly exalted law energy, as if left alone, the wellspring could birth sprites. It was the elven spring water of the Cosmic Tree, incredibly precious. A single drop of this spring water, when dropped into any universe or world, could forge a mighty being. "Sorry, I got delayed fetching the spring water," Su Miao said as she took her seat, pouring some into the pre-mixed fruit juices. Instantly, the fruit juice became the most delicious drink amidst the chaos. When poured out, the aroma was enchanting. Each witch received a cup: the Illustrator, Astrologer, Summoner, and Hell Witch. Sipping the juice brought utter delight. Seeing everyone enjoy it, Su Miao felt glad. The Astrologer remarked, "We should have Xin Meowmew over sometime, send her some of the spring water to trade with Filia for more delicacies." Su Miao smiled lightly, "I intend to send some through Xin Meowmew. No, I plan to deliver it personally." The Astrologer grinned but said nothing further. After savoring the juice, the witches proceeded to taste the delicacies spread on the table. After a while, they began exchanging magical knowledge and sharing intriguing tales from their respective worlds—the witches’ tea party had officially begun. (End of chapter)
