721 - My Longevity Simulation
# Chapter 721: The End of the Misty Domain Of course, all of this was just Li Fan's speculation. Given his limited understanding of the world's reverse logic and the struggle for immortality, Li Fan could only analyze and judge based on the various historical evolutions he'd witnessed in the Xuanyuan World, barely grasping the surface without comprehending the essence. Perhaps only when he truly reaches the realm of reverse logic will he be able to fully understand what has transpired in the Xuanyuan World during this time. As Li Fan pondered, the argument between Huangfu Song and Dongfang Yao begrudgingly reached a consensus. One should not act recklessly just because of the revival means of the "Wangsheng Mansion." Life is still precious. However, if one has the means, it wouldn't hurt to purchase treasures such as the Soul Calming Elixir or the Wangsheng Decree as a last resort. After all, life and death are unpredictable, and it's always better to be prepared. "The resurrected cultivators appearing now are still very few. I can't imagine what impact it will have on the Xuanyuan World in eighteen years when a large number of fallen cultivators are reborn," Huangfu Song mused. "I don't know what the future will hold, but clearly, the day when the white mist barrier is fully explored isn't far off!" Dongfang Yao sneered coldly, watching another speeding ship pass by. "Li, if you want to exchange for the 'End Stone Disk,' you'd better hurry up," he reminded. "Almost there. Completing one more misty domain will give me a full hundred thousand Qingxuan points," Li Fan nodded, carefully discerning the sounds emanating from the depths of the white mist and constantly adjusting his direction forward. Entering the white mist again, on this day, Li Fan once again caught the "Heavenly Physician's Sound." Yet this time, the sound was bizarre compared to usual. It was as if some interference or distortion was affecting the transmission of the sound, making it almost unrecognizable as the "Heavenly Physician." If not for the countless wails of the "Heavenly Physician" he'd heard while traversing the misty domains, Li Fan nearly wouldn't have identified it. After pondering for a moment, Li Fan refrained from acting rashly. Seeing him halt, Huangfu Song and Dongfang Yao quickly inquired about the reason. After an explanation, both said in unison, "We've weathered many storms together; there's no need to fear danger. Besides, haven't we got resurrection now? Li, don't worry, just charge ahead." Despite previously expressing skepticism about resurrection and the need for caution, it was apparent they felt more confidence within. After all, they could resurrect! Li Fan displayed a slight smile. "Alright, since both brothers say so, let's explore this misty domain," Li Fan declared, promptly steering the flying ship towards the source of the distorted sound with great speed. After traversing what seemed like an indiscernible boundary, suddenly and without warning, the Pu Xian ship came to an abrupt halt. "What happened, Li?" Huangfu Song and Dongfang Yao glanced at Li Fan in surprise. "It wasn't me," Li Fan explained. The three exchanged glances, their expressions growing serious. A sweep of their spiritual senses revealed no anomalies around the ship, nor did it uncover the reason for their inexplicable stop. After contemplating, Li Fan retrieved the "Black Death Talisman" for protection and ventured out of the Pu Xian ship. Wandering around, he sought to see what might be amiss outside. Nothing was apparent above, below, to the front, or to the sides. Yet when he reached beneath the ship, his eyes widened at the sight. Black viscous substances, resembling elongated tendrils, stretched up from the white mist below, adhering to the underside of the Pu Xian ship. These black, enigmatic materials seemed alive, emitting a "soul-shivering" sound as they slowly expanded around. Li Fan even thought he heard them "crawling" along the hull. "This is..." His spiritual sense couldn't detect anything—it was only discernible to the naked eye. Li Fan snapped his fingers, sending a flame in an attempt to sever the black tendrils clinging to the ship. To his astonishment, the flames seemed to exist in a different realm, failing to affect the tendrils no matter how fiercely they burned. He then fired a sword wave, but it had the same result. It passed through the tendrils as if they didn't exist, flying off into the distance. The viscous black substance remained firmly stuck to the ship, showing no signs of breaking. With Li Fan taking a while, releasing spiritual energy fluctuations, Huangfu Song and Dongfang Yao grew restless and also exited the ship, witnessing the bizarre scene. They tried various means but still couldn't sever the black tendrils. "We'll have to follow them downward to see where they lead," Huangfu Song suggested. Saying this, he pulled out the "Dimension Mirror" to shield himself. "We seem to have entered a new misty domain that no one else has touched yet," he said, a hint of joy in his tone. "There are three more Pu Xian ships as backup, but until we know what this thing is, we shouldn’t use them. Otherwise, if they get ensnared too, we’ll have to fly out of the white mist on foot," Dongfang Yao advised. Li Fan reassured them, "No worries, I have enough Black Death Talismans to protect us safely back." "Always thorough, Li," they praised in unison. Without worries, they immediately decided to trace the long black tendrils downward. Their pace was slow, the black substance extraordinarily extensive—it took them an entire tea time to reach its source. Faced with the sight before them, all three fell silent in shock. A massive black sphere, like a tumor, hung silently in the air. It consisted similarly of countless black viscous components. Hundreds of tendrils extended from the sphere, reaching into the white mist in various directions, clinging to unknown objects. It resembled a giant black web suspended in midair, with the sphere enshrouded at the center. "Can you sense its presence with your spiritual sense?" Huangfu Song asked nervously through spiritual transmission. Li Fan closed his eyes and in his perception, nothing existed in the void ahead. Opening them again, the black sphere reappeared in his line of sight. "No," Li Fan shook his head slightly, his expression solemn. "Forget it, let's not disturb this thing. Once we've explored this misty domain, we should leave," suggested Dongfang Yao, his usually bold demeanor shaken by the eerie scene. Li Fan gazed at the black sphere for a long time and nodded slightly. An item capable of masking spiritual senses must not be ordinary. Best err on the side of caution. --- **Note**: Use the Enter key to return to the table of contents, the ← key to go to the previous page, and the → key to go to the next page.
