Chapter 723 Chu Tian fights Ye Fan - I Became the Rich Second-Generation Villain

Seeing the terrifying brilliance of the sword, Ye Fan's expression shifted slightly. He had no choice but to summon his own natal spirit sword, channeling his spiritual energy to its utmost limit. Two dazzling sword lights clashed thunderously, a terrifying hum echoing forth, causing the ground to tremble faintly. People within miles around were shocked by the enormous commotion, momentarily feeling as though an earthquake had struck. At the center of the sword clash, a fearsome storm raged, sweeping away and destroying nearby objects as if they were nothing. The gate of Wu Xingtian's residence and some of its sturdy walls were significantly leveled. Both Chu Tian and Ye Fan let out a muffled grunt almost simultaneously. Although Chu Tian was at the ninth level of the Qi Refining stage, possessing the Hongmeng Sword exponentially enhanced his combat strength. Ye Fan, on the other hand, at the first level of the Foundation Establishment stage, had just crafted his natal spirit sword. However, compared to the innate treasure that was the Hongmeng Sword, there was a vast gap. In this exchange, neither party gained any advantage. "I don't even know you; there must be some misunderstanding. Tell me what's going on," Ye Fan said after a brief clash with Chu Tian. He realized he had encountered a tough opponent and didn’t want to continue fighting, seeking instead to understand the situation and resolve the conflict. However, having seen Jiang Yuner disgraced, Chu Tian was blinded by rage, giving Ye Fan little time to speak. Ye Fan barely finished half his sentence before Chu Tian charged forward with his sword again. Ye Fan could have chosen to escape and ignore Chu Tian. Yet, as the Xuantian Immortal Sovereign, how could he flee unless faced with a life-or-death crisis? Faced with no choice, Ye Fan confronted Chu Tian head-on. But the situation was baffling to Ye Fan, so he didn’t fight Chu Tian with lethal intent, which only escalated the conflict. Much of his efforts were focused on defense. Resultantly, his battle movements were somewhat constrained. Chu Tian, driven by a resolve to kill, engaged Ye Fan with reckless abandon. Although Ye Fan possessed formidable strength, under such circumstances, he gradually found himself at a disadvantage. However, prolonged defense would inevitably falter. Chu Tian seized upon an opportunity, wounding Ye Fan's arm. Blood quickly flowed from Ye Fan's arm, staining a small patch of ground red in the blink of an eye. Simultaneously, the chaotic sword energy from the Hongmeng Sword invaded Ye Fan's body, corroding and eroding his spiritual energy. Despite Ye Fan's usual calm demeanor, he was now furious. How had the Xuantian Immortal Sovereign ever been so embarrassed? He showed forbearance at every turn, while Chu Tian seemed intent on taking his life with each attack. That last strike had nearly severed his arm completely. "You! Want! To die!" Ye Fan's eyes surged with murderous intent. First, he sealed off the chaotic sword energy within him, then, gripping his natal spirit sword, he launched a counterattack against Chu Tian. Chu Tian, undeterred by threats to his life, clashed with Ye Fan once more. Both held nothing back, trading blows in rapid succession, each consuming tremendous energy. Yet Chu Tian showed no sign of retreat. Ye Fan, tormented by the chaotic sword energy from the Hongmeng Sword, found his spiritual energy relentlessly dwindling. Knowing that prolonged combat was unfavorable, he aimed to resolve the battle swiftly. As Chu Tian was once more repelled, Ye Fan stood aloft, channeling his remaining spiritual energy entirely into his natal spirit sword. A terrible aura rapidly coalesced. Even with rage clouding his judgment, Chu Tian regained some semblance of rationality. Yet, Chu Tian remained unyielding, pouring his dwindling spiritual energy into the Hongmeng Sword. Suddenly reviving in brilliance, the Hongmeng Sword burst forth with radiant energy once again. Just then, Wu Xingtian arrived nearby, joining Ye Wu Hen and a large contingent of the Yanlong Army. The duel between Ye Fan and Chu Tian had caused such a commotion that Ye Wu Hen assumed it was an invasion by foreign forces and naturally brought the Yanlong Army to respond. However, the residual waves from that battle were terrifyingly potent. Ye Wu Hen understood that approaching recklessly could mean certain death, even from just being caught in the aftermath. Thus, she dared not get closer, choosing instead to watch the battle unfold with the Yanlong Army from a vantage point. "What is happening?!" Wu Xingtian asked Ye Wu Hen, somewhat bewildered. "I don't understand either," Ye Wu Hen replied, equally perplexed. "I don't know where this powerful individual came from, but suddenly, he clashed with Ye Xuantian." After responding, Ye Wu Hen asked, "Master, where did you go?" Ye Wu Hen had wondered earlier why, with such commotion, her master had not shown up. "I found Liu Sheng Ichiro sneaking into my house, so I sensed his energy and pursued him, but unfortunately lost track," Wu Xingtian explained regretfully. He then turned his gaze to the battle, focusing on Chu Tian. "Master, Ye Xuantian is truly unfathomable. Though his cultivation is at the twenty-first level of the Saint realm, his array of powerful techniques is endless, arguably no weaker than you," Ye Wu Hen shared her observations of the battle. Wu Xingtian had long suspected Ye Xuantian was extraordinary, and hearing his disciple’s assessment didn’t surprise him, though he was amazed at the person standing opposite Ye Xuantian. "This man fights against Ye Xuantian and hasn't been defeated?" Wu Xingtian expressed his shock. "I'm not sure what his background is, but he’s not weaker than Ye Xuantian," Ye Wu Hen noted. "Judging by his appearance, he doesn't seem to be an outsider; he appears to be from the Yan Kingdom. If we have their aid during this crisis, what have we to fear from those outsiders?" Wu Xingyun exclaimed excitedly, declaring, "We can't let them continue fighting. No matter their grievances, I must mediate!" Having said this, Wu Xingtian transformed into a streak of light and rushed toward the battle, placing himself between the two. "Both of you, stop at once!" Wu Xingyun called out loudly. However, by this point, Ye Fan had gathered sufficient momentum to end the fight, unwilling to get further entangled with Chu Tian. Ignoring Wu Xingtian’s plea, Ye Fan dropped his raised natal spirit sword with a soft, low shout. "A sword cuts across worlds!" A terrifying sword light stretched a hundred feet long, seemingly cleaving the heavens and earth. Simultaneously, the Hongmeng Sword unleashed its own dazzling light of equal length. The two sword beams charged toward each other with a thunderous collision. Caught in the crossfire, Wu Xingyun was in imminent danger. Feeling a shiver run through him, he dared not attempt mediation further, instead opting to channel all his spiritual energy for a desperate escape. As the two sword beams, each reaching a hundred feet, collided amidst countless awestruck eyes, the surroundings fell eerily silent, devoid of any sound. This silence spanned mere seconds before an abrupt eruption. The two sword beams shone with blinding brilliance. The surroundings were engulfed by white light. All vision was consumed by this white glow. Boom! A terrifying sound burst forth, striking many people’s eardrums painfully. The ground itself seemed to quiver. It was an indeterminable length of time before the sounds finally subsided. People opened their eyes and peered into the distance at the battle scene once more. (Chapter end)
