Chapter 730 Gathering - I Became the Rich Second-Generation Villain

Ye Wu Hen saw that Wang Haoran remained silent and assumed he was upset by her previous words. She comforted him: "My heart is already yours and won't run away. Why rush to do it now? Let’s leave it for tonight." "Alright, we'll do as you say," he agreed without insistence; sooner or later, it didn’t really matter to him. "You know where I live. I'll leave the door open for you to come when the time comes," Ye Wu Hen said with a hint of shyness. Feeling unable to face him calmly, she untangled herself from his embrace and ran out of sight. As night fell, Wang Haoran didn’t go to meet Ye Wu Hen as planned—not because he didn’t want to, but because once he went, he wouldn’t be able to leave quickly. Shinichi Chizuru and her group had already begun their operation by this time. In the period spent interacting with Ye Wu Hen, Wang Haoran had discreetly gleaned information about the imperial capital's defenses from her. Ye Wu Hen harbored no suspicions towards him and thus wasn’t secretive. He learned how to slip into the imperial capital without being detected by its defenses. The defenses, a blend of modern technology and enchantments, made it nearly impossible for alien cultivators to infiltrate without special skills. Shinichi Chizuru herself could sneak in due to her abilities, but the other foreign experts couldn’t. Thanks to information obtained from Wang Haoran, these foreign experts successfully penetrated the imperial capital, reaching the vicinity of the Flaming Dragon Army base. Ye Wu Hen already resided within the base since Wu Xing Tian's mansion had turned into rubble, leading her to stay there. Shinichi Chizuru and her group concealed their presence, awaiting nearby. Before long, someone approached their location. They sensed the presence of Ichiro Yagyu. Soon enough, he appeared in sight, holding a cloth-wrapped bundle in his hand. The bundle was round, faintly giving off a reddish glow. This Ichiro Yagyu was unmistakably Wang Haoran in disguise. Once he was close to the group, he tossed the bundle forward. It traced a parabolic path before landing and rolling to their feet. With its rolls, something bloody began to emerge from within. The lot of them, being hardened characters, weren't fazed by the gruesome sight. Smith, eager to confirm, squatted down to inspect the face. After examination, he sighed in relief, exclaiming, "It's Ye Wu Hen!" Shinichi Chizuru and the others also checked, reassured and no longer doubting Ichiro Yagyu’s allegiance. Yet, with an unfathomable expression, Shinichi Chizuru eyed him and asked, "Ichiro, this woman listens to your every word. Did you hesitate when killing her?" "Just a tool, nothing to hesitate about. But Lady Chizuru, don’t forget your promise," Wang Haoran chuckled. Shinichi Chizuru had no intention of keeping her promise, but outwardly replied, "Let’s discuss that after the mission." "How long until the poison acts?" Smith impatiently inquired. Though Smith addressed Ichiro Yagyu, Wang Haoran himself found the pale-skinned man irksome and had no intention of replying. "Wu Xing Tian, come out and meet your death!" Wang Haoran roared as a direct reply. With spiritual energy amplifying his voice, it boomed aloud, catching everyone’s attention. Shinichi Chizuru and the others were momentarily startled, but soon realized that Wu Xing Tian’s poisoning must have taken effect. Otherwise, Ichiro wouldn't be so reckless. Yet, they all thought Ichiro was out of his mind. It was enough to know Wu Xing Tian was weakened—why not stealthily ambush him instead of causing such a ruckus? Had it not been for the fact that Ichiro brought them Ye Wu Hen's head, suspicion of his defection might have arisen again. "Ichiro, have you lost it?" Shinichi Chizuru frowned in reprimand. The other experts echoed in agreement. "All cowards. What’s there to fear about a weakened Wu Xing Tian?" Wang Haoran scoffed. Hearing this irked them. Under other circumstances, they might have challenged Ichiro to a duel. His voice had exposed Shinichi Chizuru and her group's location. Flaming Dragon soldiers rapidly gathered toward the commotion. Wu Xing Tian, recovering within the base, was horrified. Having freshly bathed, Ye Wu Hen waited quietly for someone to arrive. Upon hearing the commotion, she quickly dressed and exited her room. The two master and disciple soon bumped into each other, their gazes interlocking, each seeing the other's deep concern. "It seems news of my weakness has spread. Otherwise, these outsiders wouldn’t be so audacious," Wu Xing Tian remarked. "Only a handful knew of this. How could it have leaked?" Ye Wu Hen was puzzled. "There are no secrets that won’t spill. However, the speed of this is quite unsettling," Wu Xing Tian fixated his gaze on Ye Wu Hen. "Master, do you suspect me?" Ye Wu Hen asked, startled. "How could I doubt you? I merely wanted to know, other than you and me, who else knew?" Wu Xing Tian inquired. "Wang Haoran knows," she replied, then assertively added, "But I’m sure he’s uninvolved!" Wu Xing Tian sighed, refraining from arguing with her. Such a dispute was futile at this juncture. "Ye Wu Hen, I might not witness your wedding. Besides, you bear a heavy burden—hold onto your life," Wu Xing Tian spoke as if imparting final words. "Master, you know me well," Ye Wu Hen responded with resolve. With a long sigh, he ceased to persuade further and simply stated, "Very well! Let's meet these seven renowned experts together!" The Flaming Dragon Army, swiftly assembled, advanced under Wu Xing Tian and Ye Wu Hen's lead to Shinichi Chizuru’s location. Seeing themselves surrounded by the soldiers didn’t alarm Shinichi Chizuru's group. To them, only Wu Xing Tian posed a threat. Upon seeing him, they quickly discerned his depleted spiritual energy. Yet, spotting Ye Wu Hen by his side left them stunned. Instinctively, they glanced at the ground where the bloody head had been. It was empty, without even a trace of blood. Confounded, they turned to question Ichiro Yagyu, only to find him missing. An ominous feeling gripped Shinichi Chizuru. An instinct to flee arose. However, Smith and others showed no such intent. Despite the eeriness, Wu Xing Tian’s depleted state remained unquestionable. Ichiro’s power was initially insignificant; his aid was minor. But with six of them confronting an ailing Wu Xing Tian and the Flaming Dragon Army, their victory seemed assured. (End of the chapter)
