Chapter 734 Ye Fan's New Plan - I Became the Rich Second-Generation Villain
Ye Fan agreed to Wu Xingtian's plan primarily because he wanted to rise to fame by stepping over the formidable strongmen on the Heavenly Rankings. However, that thought has completely gone up in smoke. Wang Jitian had accomplished what Ye Fan originally aimed to do. With a sigh, Ye Fan decided to pursue another goal. He intended to track down the madman he had previously clashed with. Ye Fan had two objectives. First, to discover the reason why this lunatic wanted to kill him. Second, to seize the madman’s innate treasure! Regardless of the fact that Ye Fan was currently in the Foundation Establishment phase; even if he were a Tribulation Transcending Immortal, he would still be tempted by such a treasure. Upon seeing Chu Tian's Hongmeng Sword, Ye Fan had already conceived of taking it. Although he defeated Chu Tian at that time, he lacked the subsequent strength to seize the Hongmeng Sword. More importantly, he suspected he had been set up. Having been injured, his natural reaction was to leave quickly and escape danger. Now that Ye Fan's injuries had improved significantly, he reconsidered his plan. He infiltrated the Imperial Capital to gather information about Chu Tian. Unfortunately, he learned that Chu Tian had died. Arrangements were underway by Wu Xingtian’s men to send Chu Tian home. Ye Fan managed to intercept the route to inspect Chu Tian's corpse but felt hugely disappointed. The innate treasure was nowhere to be found. Clearly, someone had taken it. This further convinced Ye Fan that he had been ensnared in a ploy. Subsequently, Ye Fan sought other intelligence. Information such as "Wang Jitian, sixth level of the Sacred Realm, one sword to kill six sages" quickly reached Ye Fan's ears. Moreover, Ye Fan swiftly deduced from these gathered insights that Wang Jitian was indeed Wang Haoran, whom he had been looking for. Ye Fan had previously crossed paths with Wang Haoran at Xiang Island. Back then, Ye Fan concluded that Wang Haoran’s cultivation varied between the ninth level and the perfect tenth level of the Qi Refinement phase, which is equivalent to the ninth to tenth levels of the Sacred Realm. The claimed sixth level of the Sacred Realm was undoubtedly a guise. Ye Fan could confidently assess that he currently stood no chance against Wang Haoran. According to Ye Fan's estimation, Wang Haoran's true battle prowess could rival that of a cultivator at the peak of Foundation Establishment. Ye Fan knew he was nowhere near achieving this. Furthermore, he suspected that Wang Haoran might have already appropriated Chu Tian's innate treasure. Considering all these aspects, Ye Fan decided to abandon any immediate thought of seeking revenge against Wang Haoran for those two attacks. "Isn’t his cultivation speed a bit too fast?" Ye Fan pondered with skepticism. The current environment on Blue Star wasn't conducive to cultivation. Ye Fan believed his own speed was quite swift, yet Wang Haoran’s advancement outstripped his. Could it be that Wang Haoran was an Immortal reincarnated? Even if Wang Haoran were an Immortal reborn, how could his cultivation speed exceed Ye Fan's to such an extent? Muttering under his breath, Ye Fan repeated, "Wang Haoran, Wang Jitian... Jitian," and suddenly broke out in a cold sweat recalling an Immortal he knew—Ji Tianmo Di. Ji Tianmo Di's cultivation technique was distinctive, not limited by the sparse spiritual energy environment of Blue Star. If Wang Haoran was indeed Ji Tianmo Di reincarnated, this would thoroughly explain his rapid advancement in cultivation. Realizing this, Ye Fan felt a surge of pressure. In his past life, he and four other Immortals had joined forces to attack Ji Tianmo Di, suffering heavy losses; the scene seemed fresh in his memory. Even at equal cultivation levels, Ye Fan doubted he could defeat Ji Tianmo Di, let alone when his cultivation was inferior. Given Wang Haoran’s rate of progress, he had clearly begun cultivating the internal canon of the Demon Emperor. Meanwhile, Ye Fan was merely practicing a basic Qi-induction technique, advancing at a snail's pace in Blue Star’s environment compared to Ji Tianmo Di’s technique. Consequently, Ye Fan decided to start cultivating the Green Emperor Longevity Art. Only by studying the Green Emperor Longevity Art might he have a chance against Ji Tianmo Di. Originally, Ye Fan intended to reach the pinnacle of the Foundation Establishment phase before attempting this, but circumstances required him to advance his plans. However, cultivating the Green Emperor Longevity Art wasn't straightforward. It required some very precious cultivation resources as assistance. In his past life, Ye Fan found these resources only after leaving Blue Star. But Ye Fan remembered that on Blue Star, there was a different dimension, vaster than Blue Star itself. In that place, an ancient cultivation civilization persisted. During his previous life, Ye Fan had discovered this dimension when he was about to leave Blue Star. However, being in haste, he just took a glance and left without exploring it further. "It seems I'll have to venture into the Domain of Saints. But before that, I should meet Youruo," Ye Fan mumbled. He had assumed making a name for himself would be simple but hadn't expected multiple setbacks delaying his planned meeting with Fang Youruo. To be honest, Ye Fan deeply missed Fang Youruo. The journey to the Domain of Saints promised to be lengthy, and with thoughts of longing consuming him, he naturally wished to see her. Nevertheless, Ye Fan didn’t plan on meeting Fang Youruo officially but intended to take a different approach. Meanwhile, far away in Qiongzhou, Fang Youruo was also suffering from longing. However, her thoughts weren’t for Ye Fan. That evening, after class, troubled by her thoughts, Fang Youruo decided to leave school for a calming walk by the river. Just outside the school gates, she encountered an elderly man dressed in a Taoist robe. In his hand, he held a bamboo stick, with a white cloth draped over it bearing dragon-like calligraphy depicting four words—Immortal Guidance. Realizing the man was a fortune-teller, Fang Youruo noticed his dignified, ethereal aura that seemed fitting for his role. Though the world was teeming with frauds, Fang Youruo wasn’t worried about being cheated. "Fortune-teller, are your predictions accurate?" Fang Youruo addressed the old man. "Young lady, you’ll know if they are once you give it a try," the old man responded with a smile. "Can you predict everything?" Fang Youruo questioned skeptically. "I wouldn’t dare claim that, but most things, like your marital prospects," the old man replied with enigmatic significance. Hearing this, Fang Youruo’s eyes sparkled. She was currently troubled over this matter. She wasn’t foolish enough to take anyone’s word at face value; yet, contemplating it, she decided to test his skills. "Fortune-teller, then tell me, what kind of person will my future husband be?" Fang Youruo inquired. Assuming a calculating pose, the elderly man responded after a moment, "Your future husband will be the most dazzling individual in the world, far from ordinary." His words intrigued Fang Youruo. Gaining some belief, she bravely continued asking, "Then, tell me, when will my future husband come to marry me?" The elderly man offered a profound smile before slowly stating, "When he’s renowned around the world, that will be the time he comes for you." As the words echoed, the old man's form transformed into a streaking light, soaring into the sky. Leaving a bewildered Fang Youruo behind. (End of Chapter)
