2-54 - How Could the Villainous Young Master Be a Saintess?

Volume Two, Chapter 54: He Needs Tutoring Author: Hantang Guilai Updated: 2025/6/1 20:30:01 Word Count: 4024 The chaos caused by the demon column Eurnes in the original story has come to an end. While property damage is significant, there are no casualties. Compared to the original work where Cary Leiman Academy was severely damaged, this outcome is quite favorable. Could this be due to Wenny's presence changing the world's trajectory? It's hard to believe that the reduction in casualties is because he, the former villain, was involved. It sounds bizarre and unbelievable. However, Wenny still feels something is amiss. Many doubts arose throughout the process, such as the situation that caught Aesphyra off guard. Wenny finds it normal that the current world line deviates from the original plot, but the deviations here are unusually strange. It can't be just because he turned over a new leaf, and the story's corrective power needed a villain to replace him, can it? Wenny thinks things aren't that simple. The story's corrective power couldn't manifest in such an unreasonable way, otherwise, it would be too forceful. While the issue with the "Bronze Blood" had a conclusion, why Aesphyra's plan was exposed remains unresolved. If it truly was an internal problem within the "Bronze Blood", why were they so surprised? Were they pretending? But there was no need for that. Could it be that the zealots, who are devoted members from families that have worshipped Eurnes for generations, weren't privy to the complete plan? That seems impossible; their loyalty to "Bronze Blood" and Eurnes is absolute. Wenny delved into thought but found no answers, so he gave up. Why worry so much? Although Wenny considers himself clever and resourceful, why waste extra brainpower? This matter should be left to the protagonist Aesphyra to ponder. Why should he trouble himself? What use is there in him thinking about it? Since he has already turned to the right side in Aesphyra's eyes, he can just coast along. If even Aesphyra can't resolve something, then his thinking is of no consequence. With final exams approaching, that is what he should focus on. Although he's clever and has improved his academic scores since entering school, the progress isn't substantial. To maintain his grade ranking, Wenny is concerned. Relying on himself to improve significantly in a short time isn't feasible. If he could, he would have done so already. Admittedly, his learning ability might be less than ideal. Perhaps he could study in Vannesa’s form, yet during exams, it's not Vannesa taking the tests. Meaning, Wenny experiences forgetting half of what he learned after a night’s sleep. He doesn't possess Vannesa’s photographic memory. Her high stats don't apply to him. What he needs is a learning method to remember more information and apply it flexibly. Moreover, Shikondell is now quite sensitive to Vannesa's scent. If he tries to review in Vannesa’s form, Shikondell might detect him. Once you learn something it sticks better. Even if revising in Vannesa’s form is permissible, what he learns before won’t be forgotten, adding to his knowledge. So, Wenny, with a clear goal, realizes he urgently needs to find a top student to teach him. This is somewhat challenging. Most students here come from affluent families and aren’t willing to spend time tutoring him for pocket change. Plus, what's his reputation like at the academy? Therefore, when thinking of a tutor, Wenny considers two candidates with high probabilities of agreeing and both being heroines. One is Mirexia, the other is Shikondell. If he asked these two to teach him, they would likely oblige, yet after pondering, it seems inappropriate. Mirexia ranks in the top five of second-year students, so teaching Wenny first-year material is no problem. However, with the aftermath of recent events in the academy still unresolved and final exams approaching, student council duties pile up, keeping Mirexia extremely busy. Given Mirexia’s strong sense of responsibility, she's trying to make up for time spent previously visiting Wenny. Her work leaves her barely any time to rest. Moreover, Wenny isn’t the only one needing revision. Mirexia also needs time to study. It's unreasonable to expect her to sacrifice her study time for him, isn’t it? With Mirexia too busy, Wenny turns to Shikondell, who's conveniently nearby and frequently in his sight. Upon hearing that Wenny wanted tutoring, Shikondell was delighted to help, but… “For this question, we do it this way, then that way, and we can also do it this way, thus arriving at the answer.” Sitting on a small stool with a pen, Shikondell scribbled on the paper, muttering as she went along. This lengthy solution left Wenny baffled, unable to follow her thought process. “Wenny, that’s it! Do you understand now?” Shikondell, having solved it, glared expectantly at Wenny with eyes sparkling like little stars, akin to a bunny seeking praise. “...The solution, I don't quite get it,” Wenny muttered, hesitant to say he understood nothing but unwilling to dim Shikondell’s bright spirits. “Oh, which part isn’t clear?” Shikondell asked. “Is it this part? Yes, it’s a bit harder, listen closely Wenny, you do it like this, then like this…” Full of energy, Shikondell seems thrilled to help Wenny in an area she excels at. Watching her enthusiastic effort, Wenny chose not to interrupt. It's hard to dampen her spirited enthusiasm. But truthfully, he hasn't grasped a single word she said. “Um, Miss Dell, could you make the explanation a bit more detailed?” Wenny gently suggested. “Eh? Isn’t that clear?” Shikondell’s joy dimmed upon hearing this, sliding into a self-critical mood. “No, no, that’s not what I mean. You’re explaining well, but maybe speak a bit slower, considering my understanding is a bit slow,” Wenny hurried to clarify. Having seen Shikondell worried sick over him a few nights before, Wenny finds it hard to criticize her openly. Despite her effort being slightly counterproductive. “Alright, alright, Wenny, listen closely, we do this, then that…” “Wait, wait, hold on, Miss Dell, could you explain what ‘this’ is?” Wenny asked, voicing his deepest confusion. “Eh? ‘This’ just means… applying the formula?” Shikondell tilted her head, seeming confused that an explanation was necessary. “Which formula, specifically?” Wenny’s voice wavered slightly. “That formula, um, I can’t remember the name, sorry Wenny,” Shikondell tapped her head. “Anyway, if you read through the formulas and memorize them, you’ll be fine, knowing the names isn’t necessary, right?” “….” By this point, Wenny realized Shikondell, despite her good grades, isn’t suited for tutoring. Some folks excel academically but struggle to teach, often getting lost in their own thought process. Having such a person teach usually leads to inefficiency. Thus, Wenny decided not to have Shikondell tutor him further. This is absurd. Due to his reputation, Wenny isn't very popular at the academy. The handful of high-achieving students he knows, like Mirexia and Shikondell, aren't suitable. He couldn’t possibly ask Aesphyra for help, could he? Leaving aside whether Aesphyra would agree, or even be willing, Wenny himself isn’t too keen. He hasn’t forgotten how Aesphyra toyed with him recently—facing her again might make it hard for him to resist seeking retribution. Moreover, why would Aesphyra want to teach him? Not long ago, she was suspicious of him and even followed him around. Even if she has let her guard down temporarily, it doesn’t mean her fondness for him has increased. If he were to request her help, Aesphyra would probably tease him, give him a vague response, and then leave, without actually tutoring him. No one has enough clout to get her alone with a man like that. Sounding a bit like an enigma? Exactly. So that was it, Wenny realized the only other people he knew well enough at the academy were the few poker buddies. But bringing them in as tutors was laughable; apart from playing cards, they were hopeless at academics. Fred’s grades are even worse than his. Who would be tutoring whom? Truth be told, he might be the best among the card sharks in terms of academic scores. After mulling it over, Wenny couldn’t find a suitable candidate and decided to head to the library alone. What choice did he have given his social standing? He fancied himself a charming, dashing young man, one who could make women swoon, yet the very blessing of his appeal seemed to close all social doors, leaving him without conversation partners. It wasn’t just that no one would talk to him—people avoided him like the plague. As he entered the library, the reaction was palpable. Female students roaming the library with books would promptly change course upon recognizing him as if an invisible barrier around him kept people at a five-meter distance. Wenny felt an indignant sadness. Here he was, so handsome, yet not a single normal girl was willing to approach him! How on earth was he supposed to fulfill his romantic dream of pairing up with a lovely stranger? Given his current reputation, such aspirations seemed nearly unattainable. With a deep sigh, feeling lost regarding his future plans, he resigned himself to being just a quiet and handsome young man for now. There is an upside to this, however—he could enjoy an entire table to himself in the library. Any table that Wenny set his eyes on would remain his alone, as others would promptly vacate it. With final exams nearing, seats in the library were scarce, and most people shared tables. Being able to have one to himself was a luxury. Wenny shook his head, crossed his legs, and opened his workbook and textbook, diving into self-study. Unless something unexpected happened, no one would likely speak to him throughout the afternoon. Yet, surprisingly, the unexpected did happen. “Knock, knock.” A gentle, orderly tapping sounded on the table. Wenny, not accustomed to anyone seeking him out, paid no attention. “Knock, knock.” Until the person before him made no move to leave, Wenny slowly realized someone was indeed trying to engage him. Looking up, he was surprised to find a familiar face. It was someone he never expected to approach him. “Is anyone else sitting here?” The black-haired girl, with a voice as chilly as a cold spring, asked expressionlessly. “…No,” Wenny replied instinctively. “Well then, excuse me.” With that, the pure and pretty black-haired girl elegantly pulled out a chair and sat down, unaffected by Wenny’s presence. Her black-stockinged legs crossed naturally. Looking at this girl with black hair and violet eyes, Wenny felt as though he was gazing upon a noble lady straight out of an artistic portrait. With just a few words, she displayed an exceptional aura that was palpable. Elegant, polite, noble, imbued with innate self-assuredness, unwavering in her decisions, unconcerned with others’ opinions, strong-willed, and possessing immense drive and initiative. Honestly, Wenny admired her profoundly and couldn’t help but acknowledge her as a future empress of the empire. 2025/06/02/22/49 [Bookmark for easier reading] Previous Chapter | Table of Contents | Next Chapter
