117 - The Butler Dismissed by the Saintess Couldn’t Possibly Be the Demon Dragon Princess

Chapter 117: Planning "But I'm still not very skilled with my Light Chain technique. I have to practice tomorrow," Lillian said, her eyes wandering uncertainly. It was the first time Ian had invited her to an entertainment activity, and deep down, she didn't want to refuse. However, she was determined to become strong to protect Ian, leaving her torn between conflicting desires. "I've always said, learning requires a balance between work and rest. There's no need to stay cooped up practicing all the time." "Besides, isn't it possible that you'll learn faster and better after you've relaxed a bit?" Ian suggested. "Is that so?" Lillian wavered. Lillian had originally wanted to accept Ian's invitation to attend the concert with her. Now, hearing Ian say that attending wouldn't hinder her skill proficiency and might even enhance it, she saw no reason not to go. "Exactly." Seeing Lillian's hesitation, Ian pressed the advantage. "Alright then, I'll go with you tomorrow." "Great, I'll go get the tickets." Ian knew that tickets for such a popular star usually sold out in advance, but since she had a good relationship with Aelia, obtaining a couple of tickets shouldn't be an issue. Halfway out, it suddenly occurred to Ian that since Lillian's bloodline development was only at seven percent and hadn't reached the ten percent required for her first skill, how could she be learning skills? Ian stopped and turned to Lillian, "Lillian, if I remember correctly, your bloodline development is still at seven percent, not ten. How are you able to learn skills?" "The Holy Maiden's bloodline is special; it allows me to learn certain skills ahead of time," Lillian explained. "Didn't Veronica use a healing skill during the Sacred Trial?" "It really is a remarkable bloodline. I'm a bit envious of you both," Ian remarked. Though Ian was just speaking, if her suspicions were correct, she had a powerful time-controlling ability. When the time came, she'd fear neither Lillian nor Veronica, nor would Athenina or even Selenevia, who nearly killed her, intimidate her. Especially Selenevia—one day, Ian would certainly have her revenge. Some time later, Ian returned with two tickets and a booklet, a satisfied smile on her face. Though going to the chapel to find Aelia felt like walking into the lion's den, Ian had reaped rich rewards. Even when Aelia teased her, Ian decided to let it slide. "Ian, what are you holding?" Lillian asked curiously as Ian cheerfully hopped back into the hotel with a song on her lips. "Hehe, this is a treasure." Ian mysteriously surveyed their surroundings before revealing the cover of the booklet to Lillian after ensuring no one else was around. The cover bore the title: "The Secret Affairs of Miss Aelia, the Holy Maiden." "Oh my, what is this?" Lillian exclaimed. "Shh, keep your voice down. It took me a lot of effort to gather this information." Ian motioned for silence with a finger to her lips. "But what's the point of looking into these things?" Lillian asked, puzzled. "Well, you see," Ian responded smugly, "do you know the relationship between Aelia and the star holding the concert here?" "Friends?" "Their relationship is much closer than mere friendship," Ian grinned, flipping open the booklet to a specific passage. "They supposedly knew each other since they were little. You might even call them childhood sweethearts." "Then they are childhood sweethearts?" Lillian queried. "But how does this relate to your investigation into the master's romantic history?" "Of course there's a connection!" Ian lowered her voice, eyes twinkling with gossip. "According to this booklet, Aelia and that star aren't just childhood friends." "What are they then?" Lillian asked, intrigued. "Romantically involved." "What? You're saying the star and the master are in a relationship?" "Though not officially announced, that's essentially the situation. Many privately consider them a couple." "But what does this have to do with us?" "It's hugely relevant. You don't realize how many people Aelia flirts with on the side; the booklet details it all." "If I were to place this booklet in the star's dressing room, what do you think her reaction to Aelia would be?" "Tsk tsk, just imagining the outcome is thrilling!" "Is this really a good idea?" Lillian asked nervously. "Why not? I'm merely informing the star of the facts." "Besides, from Aelia's behavior, she's clearly a flirt, isn't she?" Just like Athenina. Of course, Ian didn't voice this aloud; she would wait until she was stronger than Athenina to express her discontent with Athenina's numerous escapades. "What if the master finds out?" "Don't worry, she won't find out. I’ll be the only one sneaking into the dressing room; you won't be involved," Ian assured. "But I still feel uneasy," Lillian said, her face showing discomfort. She thought Ian was courting trouble. As childhood sweethearts, surely the star would know some things about Aelia. If she hadn't objected already, it showed she likely didn't care. Lillian feared that Ian was about to become the target of a prank orchestrated by Aelia and the star. "Enough about that. I'm starving. Is there anything to eat in the room?" "The front desk sells some bread and such. I can buy some for you," Lillian offered softly. "Thanks, I need to work on tomorrow's plan." Ian picked up a pen and started taking notes in the booklet. Watching Ian seriously draft her plan, Lillian felt that she alone couldn't stop her. She could only hope Ian wouldn't get into too much trouble... Lillian sighed, left the room, and went to the front desk to grab some bread. Though a simple meal for the evening, they had no other choice. They were penniless, their hotel stay funded by Aelia, and cooking in the hotel was impossible. Not to mention that Lillian couldn't cook; the hotel simply lacked the facilities for it.
