Chapter 60 - Self-Rescue Manual of a Villainess

Chapter 060: Other Villains Swiftly arriving and storing her bag in the classroom, it was clear the day’s schedule was disrupted. It was the day for power testing registration, thus there were no classes to attend. The grade department had essentially designated the day an on-campus vacation. Some particularly understanding class instructors even handed back the students’ phones they’d confiscated on the previous Monday, simply hoping the students could enjoy the day a little. After all, power testing in this world was as important as the culture high exams. One test, one report card, will decide if one could immediately reach the skies or be deemed ordinary for a lifetime. As for Nan Yin, she simply handed her ID to Xia Yi Yi to sign her up. She then left the classroom in the name of relaxation, moving towards the back schoolyard. The schoolyard was quite large, yet deserted save for a few love-dovey couples. The livelier front courtyard was no doubt more tempting to the students. Looking at the couples enjoying each other’s company, Nan Yin chuckled to herself, stretched lazily facing the morning sun, and turned to walk towards the library. She didn’t plan on finding Nan Xi, whose whereabouts were unknown as of now. After all, she held no feelings for her sister anymore. It was better to let her and the male lead, Su Xiao Yu, develop their relationship instead. Passing the cleaning zone of class three-seven, the flowerbed that was already completely wilted, the sign saying ‘keep off the grass’, Nan Yin casually sat down on the lawn despite the sign. Her chest was slightly stuffy. It seemed her iron will as a soldier was not enough to compensate her body's deficiencies. Nan Yin held her ample chest, wondering this to herself. "Quick, quick, hold her hand!" "You, hurry and open your phone camera!" "Dang, her eyes are red!" "......" Suddenly, Nan Yin heard voices in the nearby bamboo forest. Listening carefully to their conversation, Nan Yin frowned and began walking towards the grove. Inside the bamboo forest, a few second-year high school boys and girls dressed in Roland High uniforms were groping a girl in a white dress whose eyes were covered with a white cloth. One of them was trying to tug off her blindfold while loudly instructing a male student to get his phone camera ready. Nan Yin’s expression darkened at this sight. With an effortless smack, she broke apart a bamboo trunk as thick as her wrist. The loud noise halted the second-year students, who turned to look. "What are all of you doing here!?" At Nan Yin's imposing rebuke, the group of second-year students visibly trembled. They glanced at the bamboo trunk split in half by Nan Yin and noticed her senior year uniform. They exchanged a look. Was this a senior who already had her powers awakened? The campus bullies shuddered at the thought. "Still gawking? Waiting for me to feed you? Clear off now." Seeing the ruffled girl, Nan Yin's face darkened substantially. With a holler, she sent the group scampering away. When the second-year students had run off, Nan Yin went over to help the girl in white. But as she reached out to touch her hand, a system panel popped up in front of her. *Ding Dong. Host has encountered villain other than herself. Accept kill quest?* Kill? She might consider it if she ran into other villains, but this one in front of her, no. Nan Yin turned off the prompt without hesitation. “......” The girl seemed awkward after Nan Yin helped her up. She hadn’t anticipated someone coming to her aid, as a result, it took her a while to garner her thanks, standing there in a daze. “You’re not a student of Roland High, are you? Why’d you come here alone and even let those students bully you?” Nan Yin took the liberty of brushing off the grass and dirt on the girl’s skirt, then turned to the still standing girl. She was very beautiful, her complexion slightly pale. But her striking features and concealed eyes made the whole person emanate an ethereally sickening beauty. "……Thank……you……" Only then did the girl respond. Similar to a doll running a beat behind, she slightly bowed in Nan Yin’s direction and expressed her awkward gratitude. “…Ain’t nothing. Any normal person would lend a hand in that kind of situation.” Nan Yin shrugged, then, remembering the girl could be blind, added: “You’re an outsider, aren’t you? Why are you here all by yourself?” She recognized the girl's character from the original story. A poor child aiding and abetting others in tormenting the male lead, Su Xiao Yu, ending up in unbearable pain due to power blast. She was a tragic through and through—not even allowed in the harem. In fact, this girl seemed to be another villain causing Chen Yi quite some trouble recently. Whether Nan Yin should take her to the police, she considered. Chen Yi probably wouldn’t reimburse her for the transportation costs. "My name is Nan Yin, a senior at Roland High. What’s your name?" Curious, Nan Yin regarded the girl's concealed eyes. “Name……?” The girl was taken aback, seeming unable to fathom someone would ask her name, or rather………… was she even entitled to a name? The girl deliberated for a bit. Indeed, she'd had a name, one given by her parents. Since she started to remember though, she only remembered her other name—San Hao. Test subject number three. There had been two other test subjects before her. She was the third and naturally came to be known as "3". The girl wrestled to remember her limited social experience. She was contemplating how to relay her name to the girl who saved her. Although she lacked social skills, she did know that adding "xiao", meaning small, in front of one's name was a sign of humility. And her surname was… “three”. So to call herself Xiao San…… was there anything incorrect? “Pfft……” Nan Yin spurted out the water she was drinking when the girl shared her self-proclaimed name. “Is there…… something wrong?” The girl cocked her head in confusion. She could not see what happened, but from her hearing, she could roughly gauge Nan Yin’s reaction. Did she say something wrong? She recalled number one once telling her that people prefer adding “small” in front of their surname when greeting others, signifying modesty. And her surname… was three. To call herself Xiao San… was that incorrect?
