Chapter 16 - A Sweet Girl Won’t Be Fooled By The Villainess

Chapter 16: This is Top-Tier Love Drama Brain! Ifia did not leave immediately. After confirming the visitor’s location, she opened the wardrobe and started to change her clothes in disguise. The incident of being innocently implicated in the classroom today set off an alarm for her. She realized that as long as she got close to the female lead and her group, she would be unlucky. Even if she wanted to spectate, she couldn't afford to be unlucky! Before reporting to Pris Academy, Ifia had already bought some nice clothes on the first day out. For the next two days, she dressed in drab men's clothing and even wore a flaxen-colored wig. Perhaps it was due to her previous habits, but after putting on the trousers, Ifia walked even more manly than the men themselves. There was no trace of the awkwardness of switching genders. Back when she was in the clinic, Ifia had teased a beautiful lady a little, making her laugh and smile, but the next moment, a brute with arms as thick as her thighs had almost chased her through the streets. She was ultimately scolded by the lady, which prevented her legs from being chopped off. So even though she looked delicate and pretty, no one thought she was a girl. Most people just found her adorable – lacking any masculinity. Thinking of the previous dangerous moment, Ifia quickly finished changing and then put on a drab yellow duckbill cap. She lifted her hand and pressed down on the brim, covering half her face, instantly turning into an ordinary boy. Even Irene wouldn't recognize her standing in front of her. Besides classes, Pris Academy did not restrict student dress code at other times. The aristocrats were even more flamboyant, like peacocks, while the common students had just a few sets of clothes. Ifia's current attire was very plain and wouldn't draw any attention. With everything ready, Ifia quickly left the dormitory, feeling as excited as a melon-eating wild boar. "Khmph, Britney, have you forgotten our many years of relationship? How could you take Brittany's side and hit me? Wah, Britney, you're so heartless." As soon as she arrived at her destination, Ifia heard Fiona's voice. And there were quite a few gossipy people like Ifia, who directly formed a circle around the crowd. Each person curiously craned their necks to see, as if they were watching a free movie, only missing the watermelon seeds and popcorn in their hands. The location wasn't far from the dormitory building, and the onlookers were all common students. There were no aristocrats in view, perhaps considering it a loss of face, or simply not interested. In the crowd, Ifia was squeezed around, holding down her duckbill cap to avoid it falling off, and struggling to get closer. Finally, she could see the scene inside… the familiar trio of Irene and the others were there, along with a tall, thin, and unfamiliar man, presumably Fiona's ex-boyfriend Lanny. The one being wooed by the noble classmate Britney. Lanny was tall, but slender, with a somewhat delicate face that didn't particularly stand out. It was hard to tell what was attractive about him that made Fiona still linger on him after all this time. As compared to him, the Prince Karloy with impaired vision was several streets ahead in terms of looks. "Fiona, stop crying first. Don't agree to his request." "Yeah, you've already broken up. Why come to your ex-girlfriend for money? Lanny, are you really shameless now, or is it that after being with nobles for a while, you've lost all sense of shame and dignity!" Irene and George stood on Fiona's side, their comforting words turning immediately into criticism of Lanny's shamelessness. But Lanny was a ruthless person, not even changing his expression. He just looked at Fiona with a mix of sadness in his eyes, a smile of helplessness on his lips, as if burdened by countless inner conflicts that he couldn't put into words. Before he could even speak, Fiona broke down in tears. She shook off Irene's hand and staggered to Lanny, crying, "Lanny, you still love me, right? It's just that Britney is forcing you. Don't be afraid. Pris Academy isn't owned by Britney's family. As long as you and I get back together, no difficulty can keep us apart." In the crowd, Ifia couldn't help but be amazed. Wow, this is a top-tier love drama brain! How many years of digging would it take to grab the female lead Irene's attention? Even Ifia couldn't do it. Ifia looked at Irene again and saw her frowning, her face darkening, and her gaze towards Fiona losing some warmth, showing impatience. Better to study more instead of meddling in others’ affairs. If Fiona listened to advice and intervened, Irene would have helped, but the key point was that she didn't listen at all. Because of their friendship, Irene couldn't just walk away at the moment. Fiona felt even more annoyed. Irene did not look at Fiona and Lanny, but instead lifted her head and scanned the crowd, not seeing her roommate Ifia. Having been admitted to Pris Academy, Irene wasn't a foolish person. The sudden trouble from Britney and Lanny's arrival, no matter how it looked, carried the scent of conspiracy. After eliminating various possibilities, Irene finally suspected Ifia. It wasn't difficult to guess. Britney disliked pretty girls, and Ifia was pretty enough. The bet between Britney and Fiona was probably to drive Ifia away… Thus, Britney must have made other preparations. It would be difficult for Irene to secure first place in the upcoming exam. But regardless of the outcome, Irene would never leave the academy! As for why Lanny was sent to ask Fiona for money, it was probably to leave Ifia with no way out… If Fiona spoke to Ifia to borrow money, Ifia would have to lend it, to avoid being ostracized by the small group. Then, Britney would use this opportunity to obtain Ifia's money, and eventually, force her to leave Pris Academy. It was a vicious and cunning plan. Although Irene sympathized with Ifia getting caught up in the conflict, once it involved her, she had no sympathy for anyone. At critical times, one should only consider oneself… After this matter was resolved, she would distance herself from Fiona. A person who held grudges senselessly and had an unclear mind. She hadn't thought it was a big deal before, but if the contact continued, it was very likely to bring trouble. However, even though Irene expected Britney's plan, she did not stop others from asking Ifia to come over. Instead, she watched coldly. If it didn't go Britney's way, there would probably be other sneaky tricks. Just because they were roommates didn't mean she would step up. However, Irene had already seen the person go to call Ifia back, but Ifia didn't show up. "Fiona, it's okay if you don't have the money. I'll go borrow from someone else." With no sign of Ifia, new trouble erupted on Fiona's side. Lanny did not directly respond to Fiona's request to get back together, but in a distraught manner, he turned and left. This immediately made Fiona cry and hold onto Lanny's arm, urgently saying, "I'll get it, I'll get it, Lanny, don't leave. I'll get the money now." Fiona wiped her tears and looked at Irene and George, although she didn't directly speak, her expression indicated everything. She wanted to borrow money from them. Seeing this, Irene's expression became even more unpleasant, and George had the same look. They wanted to vanish from sight, making Ifia, amidst the crowd, quite relieved. Damn, thank goodness she was smart! If she hadn't disguised herself and come over to watch the spectacle, she would have become the spectacle in the eyes of others. "Ifia has money; enough for Lanny," George suddenly spoke up, breaking the silence, naming Ifia. It's inviting trouble from the East!
