The Tiger Demon had evidently visited many times and held a position of seniority among this group of demon cultivators, making his words particularly effective. At his shout, the Red Carp Spirit immediately halted. Just as she was about to retreat, the third coffin was violently thrown open with a deafening crash. The coffin, exuding a red miasma, emitted a wave of murderous energy that caused everyone's faces to pale. "Murderous energy is seeping from the coffin. This is bad; we need to leave through the seventh coffin immediately." Upon hearing this, everyone rushed towards the seventh coffin and began to push its heavy lid open with all their might. The red malicious energy from the third coffin grew thicker, and the strong stench of blood filled the entire tomb, making everyone's hearts race and fearing something terrifying might leap out. The Tiger Demon continuously urged the other demon cultivators to open the seventh coffin, but the lid was monstrously heavy, seemingly made of some mysterious stone. When a small crack appeared in the stone coffin, a deep exhalation was heard from the third coffin. The low, raspy sound made everyone’s pupils contract in terror. "Hurry and push! If he comes out, we’ll all die here today." Despite his own weakness, the Tiger Demon began helping to push the stone coffin. Bai Fan ran over to assist as well, pushing with newfound strength and infusing her spirit energy into the effort. As the stone coffin slowly opened, the grinding sound was deafening. Just as they were about halfway there, a human figure climbed out of the third coffin, shrouded in a red mist. As the mist receded, a figure entirely composed of congealed blood emerged. Rapid blood flow hastened the growth of its skin, then its facial features. Bai Fan almost fainted from fright; this was not just a ghost, but an outright monster. "Push faster! We need as many as possible to get out." Though the lid was only halfway open, the Tiger Demon began grabbing other demon cultivators and throwing them in. Beneath the seventh coffin was only deep water, and those thrown in didn’t resurface. "Senior Brother Hu!" "Swim down fast, don't stop, and don't look back." When it was Bai Fan’s turn, the Tiger Demon hesitated for barely a second before tossing her in. Gasping for breath after swallowing some water, Bai Fan quickly asked, "Aren't you coming down?" "It's too late." As the monster flew over, the Tiger Demon pressed Bai Fan deeper into the water, propelling her towards the bottom with a great force. The figure above blurred amid the rippling water, then a mass of blood spread out, making Bai Fan’s eyes widen in horror. She quickly turned and swam downward. Fear of the monster overwhelmed her. Killing a demon cultivator of Gold Core stage so swiftly meant it was far beyond ordinary Nascent Soul level. But why was such a thing in this tomb? Who had altered it so? What was their purpose? However, there was no time for these questions. Bai Fan swam desperately downward. When she saw a light below, she immediately headed for it. Surfacing suddenly, she fell onto the ground, landing among a heap of recently fallen demon cultivators. Seeing Bai Fan, the first question they asked was, “Did Senior Brother Hu make it down?” Bai Fan shook her head, causing their expressions to turn anxious. Several individuals stared in shock at the watery ceiling, while Bai Fan dried herself with spirit energy. With a serious expression, she stated, "It seems Senior Tiger is no longer with us. We should leave here quickly before that monster catches up." She then ran off, paying no mind to the others. Survival was paramount. Silently, she prayed that He Yiman hadn't entered the tomb, hoping she was waiting safely outside. The place was just too dangerous. If she had any way out, she would have taken it long ago. After falling through the water screen, she saw only the night sky. Apart from the walkable stone corridors, everything around was void, covered in night. After walking a short distance, Bai Fan noticed white wisps drifting to and fro in the night. Occasionally brushing past her, they sent chills from her head to her toes. She cursed aloud, "What a damned place, filled with these weird things. I hate it." Then she remembered the ghost lantern she carried and immediately pulled it out. Seeing a missing corner, Bai Fan was sure this was the same ghost lantern she had encountered before. Given the current situation, it might prove useful. "Ghost Lantern, Ghost Lantern, come out. Stop hiding, I know you're in there." But the ghost lantern showed no response, remaining dark like a dead object. Bai Fan figured it was playing tricks as usual. It had hung lifelessly until a mad beggar found her and nearly got her killed by the Dragon-Slaying Sword. Determined, Bai Fan infused a continuous stream of spirit energy into the lantern. If it refused to emerge, she would refine it. With the influx of spirit energy, the ghost lantern, which usually emitted a green light, now shone with a bright, dazzling white light. "Hmph, if you don't come out, you'll be refined and bound to my will." Outside the hall, the ghost lantern spirit felt a tightness in its chest. Already transparent, it began fading away. Seeing his state, the ghost lantern's spirit panicked. “What’s happening? Why do I feel like I’m disappearing? Is my physical form in trouble?” Recalling that its primary body had been taken by a cultivator, it realized the situation was dire. If it didn’t return immediately, it might vanish entirely. The spirit resolved to find its body. Closing its eyes, it sensed its primary form within the hall ahead. Believing the cultivator must have entered first, the spirit rushed in, following the sensation. Unlike Bai Fan’s slow progress, the ghost spirit moved smoothly through the hall, reaching the Seven-Star Coffin where Bai Fan and the others had been. Two stone coffins were open, one completely, the other partially. A pool of blood lay on the ground, from an unknown source. There was an ominous aura, emitted from a certain coffin. The ghost spirit tried to resist its pull, but the sensation intensified. Just as its physical form called it back temporarily, it found itself at the coffin’s edge, peering inside. A lifeless man lay within. Although appearing dead, the heavy, murderous energy nearly blinded the spirit. With a roar, the man shot out, grabbing the phantom by the neck, rendering it even more translucent. "What... what are you?" The ghost lantern stammered, but the man ignored it, drawing near with blood-stained lips that reeked of iron, compelling a scream from the spirit. “Aah!” The man’s eyes were blood-filled, and with a furious roar, he squeezed tighter, bringing the ghost lantern closer to his mouth. Terrified, the spirit watched as the man bit down on its neck, feeling intense suction. However, being a ghost spirit with no true blood, only a wisp of Yin energy, the angry monster found no sustenance. Enraged, it flung the ghost lantern away, slamming it into the seventh coffin. The Ghost Lantern hastily scrambled off the coffin, finding a pool of deep water inside, leading to another place entirely. Turning to face the approaching monster intent on killing him, the Ghost Lantern was determined not to meet its end. Being a ghostly entity, he could withstand such attacks with only some pain but avoid mortal danger. "Strange, I'm sensing my physical body inside this coffin. Could it be that human cultivator went in here?" A thunderous roar filled the space. The Ghost Lantern flipped over and dived into the water, darting away quickly, with the monster following him into the seventh coffin's depths. In the water, a relentless chase ensued. Uncertain of where to swim down, the Ghost Lantern circled endlessly, repeatedly evading the monster’s grasp by a hair's breadth. Fortunately, his escape skills and lightweight form allowed him to maneuver swiftly in the water. Meanwhile, Bai Fan grew increasingly infuriated holding the physical form of the Ghost Lantern, feeling a burning desire to set it on fire. "I'll give you one more chance," she threatened. "If you don't come out, I'll summon lightning to turn you to ashes." Saying this, a small arc of lightning crackled in her hand, sputtering like tiny fireworks. As Bai Fan was about to strike the lantern with the lightning, a distant scream suddenly echoed through the space. Recognizing it as the Red Carp Spirit's voice, Bai Fan became alarmed. "Could that monster have already come down?" Glancing nervously in the direction of the sound, Bai Fan dared not run back. She could only press on ahead, desperately hoping to outpace the creature. ※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※ Thank you to the little angels who cast overlord votes or irrigated nutrient solution for me~ Thanks to the little angels who irrigated [nutrient solution]: lulula945 10 bottles; Thank you all very much for your support.
