123 - Douluo: Martial Spirit Blue Silver Grass
Reincarnate as the Malicious Senior Sister - Chapter 123 (Part 1/2) Fu Ling's face turned bright red as she was caught in the act of stealing a kiss from her beloved. Though she often flirted with Jiu Ying, either intentionally or unintentionally, she was, at heart, just a simple girl who had never experienced love. When emotions were stirred, she could only dare to ponder secretly in her mind. The act of stealing a kiss from the dragon scales was the boldest and most outrageous thing she had done with full awareness; she simply didn't have the courage to take any further actions with Jiu Ying. Now, looking at Jiu Ying's flushed profile, she couldn't help but panic, like a child caught in a misdeed, her apology tumbling out in fragmented words. "Senior Sister, I'm sorry, I-I didn't know you could feel it. That's why I did such a ridiculous thing..." Thinking it was okay to steal a kiss only because she believed the other wouldn't feel it? The more she elaborated, the more embarrassing it became. Jiu Ying pursed her lips, her face still icily composed, though the blush on her cheeks grew increasingly pronounced. The spot where Fu Ling had kissed her was more than just a golden scale. The touch landed on her shoulder and back—areas unusually sensitive. The soft lips left two kisses, one after the other. Even now, she remembered how it felt—cool yet tingling her skin, rendering her knees weak. In just a moment, all of her spiritual defenses were shattered entirely. She felt as though her heart had taken a stroll through a fiery landscape, making it feel both unbearably hot and flame-touched even now. Unsure of how to respond, a gentle, softened plea beside her ear once more disrupted her heartbeat. "Senior Sister~" A call filled with playful affection. "It's all Ling Ling's fault. Please don't be angry, okay? Ling Ling won't do it again in the future~" Admitting her mistakes, yet each word struck precisely at Jiu Ying’s heart, leaving her with no room to scold. Their bodies pressed closely, each breath allowing them to catch the scent from one another. Jiu Ying stayed silent, not repelling this closeness. After a long time, she finally spoke softly, "From now on, while casting spells, you cannot do such things." Not while casting spells, meaning other times might be acceptable? Hearing this, Fu Ling's lips curved, leaning forward to rest her head on Jiu Ying's shoulder. Jiu Ying's indulgence, her affection, were gently pulling Fu Ling's heart deeper into these feelings, leaving her uncertain how long she must wait for this relationship. But, as she had said herself, even if she had to wait a lifetime, it would be a sweet endeavor. Because she knew, one day, she would completely and thoroughly claim this beautiful woman beside her. They were one and the same, physically and in heart— Jiu Ying was meant to belong entirely to her. A breeze drifted by, tangling their hair until it was impossible to tell where one ended and the other began. Fu Ling bit her lip, chuckling foolishly, as she raised her fingertips, creating a shield of multicolored spiritual energy that appeared midair, encompassing the muddy ground. Five colors, corresponding to the five types of spiritual energy, like a rainbow after the rain, ethereal and beautiful. Gentle moonlight filtered down, breaking into fragments that wove into the glowing arc. Jiu Ying found herself entranced. Coming to the edge of the heavens, she had planned to release sky lanterns in the highest place, to gift Fu Ling the most beautiful scene between heaven and earth. She hadn't anticipated falling from midair, ending up in this in-between place, failing to release any lanterns, only to have Fu Ling gift her a rainbow instead. No matter how she thought about it, it brought a sense of coyness. She turned to look at the girl beside her, her expression much softer now, her voice infinitely gentle, "Next time, I will certainly take you to the edge of the sky." Perhaps because the atmosphere was so perfect, she couldn't help but reach out, lightly touching the girl's jade-white cheek. Her touch fleeting, she quickly withdrew her hand. Her gestures were intimate, yet restrained and subtle, unlike Fu Ling’s, who was passionate and exuberant, eager to lay bare her heart for the other. Though it was a touch as light as a breeze, it was, in itself, an unexpectedly intimate gesture. Fu Ling’s lips curved upward slightly, wishing for time to halt at this moment. She thought, this must be the happiest moment of her eighteen years. Sleeping on the ground, bodies intertwined. When she opened her eyes again, it was already noon of the next day. Jiu Ying had awoken first, as usual. The young girl was restless while sleeping, having rolled into Jiu Ying’s embrace during the night, eventually even resting her head on Jiu Ying’s chest, seemingly mistaking it for a pillow while asleep, occasionally nuzzling into it. With Fu Ling clinging firmly to her waist, resting heavily against her, Jiu Ying found herself unable to move, let alone rise. Having cried intensely the day before, Fu Ling’s eyes were still visibly swollen. Jiu Ying felt a pang of tenderness, and thus chose not to wake her. By the time Fu Ling awoke, another hour had passed. It seemed like a dream—a remarkably beautiful one. Seeing Jiu Ying extend her right hand towards her sealed the realization in her mind— Everything from last night had been real. As they returned to the bamboo grove, their fingers remained interlocked. Fang Yuanqing witnessed this scene, immediately guessing that Jiu Ying had accepted Fu Ling. As a mutual friend, she felt genuinely pleased. Taking advantage of Jiu Ying being away washing up, she quickly pulled Fu Ling over to ask a few questions. As they whispered softly together, a bamboo door nearby quietly creaked open. A young girl, about eighteen or nineteen, emerged from the room. Though she wore plain attire and her face was devoid of makeup, it couldn’t hide her noble demeanor. A closer look revealed a deep-seated sorrow overshadowing her features, evoking a natural sympathy from anyone who met her gaze. Fu Ling took one look and instantly recognized the stranger as the fifth Miss of the Yuan family—Yuan Xishuang. Upon recalling the scene she witnessed from outside the window the previous night, her heart tightened with a hint of displeasure. She disliked anyone entangled with Jiu Ying. Despite a flicker of hostility, she maintained a composed demeanor. Fang Yuanqing moved towards the bamboo house, with Fu Ling closely tagging along. "Is Miss Yuan feeling any better?" The tragic fate of the Yuan family left Yuan Xishuang as its sole survivor. Everyone aware of the situation found the fifth Miss pitiable. Fang Yuanqing was no exception. Her voice conveyed warmth, layered with concern. Yuan Xishuang nodded, her complexion somewhat pale, sorrow still lingering in her eyes. "Last night, it was thanks to Jiu Ying’s company that I am physically unscathed." Hearing this, Fu Ling's expression shifted noticeably. But she remained silent. She glanced at the girl across from her, inexplicably feeling a sense of dislike. Before withdrawing her gaze, she caught sight of a gentle, subtle smile. Yuan Xishuang was expressing goodwill toward her. However unwilling, Fu Ling could only respond with a smile. Only then did Fang Yuanqing make formal introductions for the two of them. Upon hearing 'Fu Ling', the smile on Yuan Xishuang’s face gradually stiffened. Back at Yu Chun Hall, she had heard Lin Yumia mention that Jiu Ying, with her cold heart and demeanor, cared for only one person in this world—her junior sister, Fu Ling. Unreasonably, she felt a twinge of jealousy. Having lost her family, she knew that if she wished to survive onward, she had to rely on other clans. Even for revenge, she had to lean on the strength of others. This wasn't the future she desired. Since regaining her will to live, she had been desperate to find someone capable of protecting her, sheltering her, and aiding her in her quest for vengeance. With her identity, whether she joined the Four Sects or the Seven Clans, she would ultimately become a pawn used to demonstrate the clan’s benevolence. No one understood this better than she did. Her gaze fell back on Fu Ling, her expression restored to its natural state, a gentle yet subtle smile still adorning her face. "So this is Fu Ling." "I’ve heard Lin Gongzi mention you." Fu Ling raised an eyebrow and pursued, "What did Brother Lin say about me?" "He said you and Jiu Ying are very close, inseparable, the closest pair of senior and junior sisters he’s ever seen." Yuan Xishuang replied truthfully, her gaze slightly flickering, hinting at a probing intention. Fu Ling nodded slightly and refrained from further comment. As for Fang Yuanqing beside her, she naturally wouldn't divulge the true nature of Jiu Ying and Fu Ling's relationship. The three chatted for a bit, but Jiu Ying remained absent. Yuan Xishuang, her body frail, stood for too long, her complexion paling further, her legs trembling slightly. With Fang Yuanqing dressed as a man, she found it inconvenient to offer support, leaving it to Fu Ling to help Yuan Xishuang back to her room. Once inside, silence reigned, and neither spoke. Fu Ling gently settled her at the bedside, about to leave when a voice from behind halted her. She turned, a brief frown crossing her face, but before she could speak, Yuan Xishuang offered a warm smile, her manner genuine and sincere— "Could you pass a message to Jiu Ying for me?" Fu Ling felt a vague discomfort at the request, though her past self would have likely refused outright. Seeing Yuan Xishuang was ill and had endured the loss of her family, she mustered extra patience, "What would you like me to say?" Yuan Xishuang lowered her eyes, pausing before responding, "Just tell her I have something to discuss with her." Something to discuss? What could possibly need discussing? Fu Ling's expression turned slightly cold, her lips pressed tight. Not until Yuan Xishuang lifted her gaze once more did Fu Ling stiffly nod, "Understood." The discomfort of having someone covet your treasured loved one was thoroughly unsettling. Although Yuan Xishuang didn't overtly show her emotions, Fu Ling still instinctively picked up on something. Leaving the room, her expression was less than pleasant. Fang Yuanqing closed the bamboo door behind them, noticing something was amiss with Fu Ling. Once they had walked a bit further, they resumed their conversation. Without needing any prompting, Fu Ling took the initiative to speak, “Sister Yuanqing, there's something strange about this Miss Yuan; she keeps hanging around Senior Sister!” Though her words were subtle, the implication was clear. Fang Yuanqing understood. Fu Ling suspected that Yuan Xishuang had feelings for Jiu Ying. But how could that be possible? Yuan Xishuang and Jiu Ying had known each other for less than a month. Considering the tragic demise of Yuan Xishuang’s family, leaving her as the last survivor, how could she forget such a loss so quickly and fall for someone in such a short time? Fang Yuanqing shook her head, thinking Fu Ling was being overly cautious, “I believe it might just be out of gratitude for saving her life, which is why she relies more on your Senior Sister. It probably doesn’t indicate romantic affection.” Although her reasoning made sense, Fu Ling remained unhappy. Seeing her pout in grievance, Fang Yuanqing couldn’t help but smile and suggested an idea, “If you’re really concerned, why not leave with Jiu Ying now? As for Miss Yuan, we can take her to Yu Chun Hall.” It was, undeniably, a good suggestion. Fu Ling's eyes lit up as soon as she heard it. She hooked her arm around Fang Yuanqing's, swaying it playfully, her words filled with praise, “Sister Yuanqing, you’re the best.” Moments ago she was angry, but now she was back to being cheerful. The girl's mood could change incredibly quickly. Fang Yuanqing laughed gently, patting her hand, “Go on, discuss it with your Senior Sister.” Fu Ling nodded, and with that, she dashed off towards Jiu Ying’s room. She arrived at a perfect moment, as the person inside had just finished bathing. Hearing Fu Ling's voice, the restriction near the bamboo door was immediately lifted. Jiu Ying opened the door, reaching out with a fair, slender hand, hurriedly pulling the girl inside. As Fu Ling lifted her gaze, she noticed her Senior Sister was clad only in a thin white garment, revealing her neck and collarbone, barely covered. Droplets of water remained on her skin, subtly alluring. Fu Ling dared not look further, quickly averting her gaze after just a fleeting glance, standing obediently in place and quietly waiting for Jiu Ying to get dressed. The rush of emotion often came in fleeting moments. Yet once this unspoken desire arose, it brought with it the torturous sting of emotion akin to a love charm. Only the faint sounds of rustling filled the room. Fu Ling’s heart thumped faster. As Jiu Ying donned a new set of white clothes, Fu Ling finally moved closer, timidly lifting her head to voice her request, “Senior Sister, can we leave soon?” It was an unusual request. But this time, Jiu Ying didn’t question it, simply nodded in agreement, “Okay.” “I was just about to take you to find someone.” ※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※ Senior Sister is very sensitive because that's simply the way of dragons, hehe. It feels like Ling Ling's love for Senior Sister has a touch of that possessive vibe! Hoping to attempt two updates tomorrow.
