221 - Cinderella’s Dream: Together Forever

Chapter 221 (Extra Update) Chen Wan and her group were concerned that the two mutant cows might hurt people, so they built a sturdy pen using steel pipes and secured the mechanical arm from their RV to the cows' necks to prevent them from running off. In a considerate move, Chen Wan gathered the leftovers from the army canteen and filled two buckets for the mutant cows, pouring the contents into their feeding bowls before she and Qin Ke carried a full bucket of milk back to their accommodation. Once back, Chen Wan prepared a large pot of milk, storing the rest in the refrigerator to keep it fresh. After the milk boiled, she tasted it and found it richly creamy with no unpleasant odor. She then poured a generous bowl for Zai Zai, encouraging her to use a spoon to enjoy the drink. Zai Zai's eyes lit up after the first few sips; it was far more delicious than her usual powdered milk! After making sure Zai Zai was settled, Chen Wan served milk for everyone else, leaving it to cool on the table. She poured herself a large bowl and sipped, offering her evaluation: "It feels tastier than pre-apocalypse milk, slightly sweet and not a hint of gaminess." "Indeed, it's delicious. All my effort earlier wasn't wasted," Qin Ke agreed, sipping from her own bowl. After taking a sip, Ye Lan reminded them, "Don't touch the milk in the fridge yet. I plan to make a small cake for Yang Yang tonight." "Okay, I'll make sure to milk the cows again with Qin Ke tomorrow. These mutant cows produce much more milk than ordinary ones, plenty for all of us. We should invite Wei Si Yu and the others to join us for some fresh milk, too," Chen Wan suggested with a smile. "What about the bull, though? It can't be milked; are we keeping it as well?" Yi Yi asked. "Let's keep it for now. It seems bonded to the cow; slaughtering it might affect the cow's mood and milk production, which would be problematic," Chen Wan reasoned. "You're right. We'll keep them together then," Yi Yi agreed, nodding. "Did you hear? A couple in the building next door just had a baby girl today. More and more people are joining our base, including doctors and nurses. The hospital is up and running again," Shen Ming Yan announced with a smile. "Really? That's great news. Now our Yang Yang will have more playmates," Chen Wan said, lifting the little one and playfully bouncing her in her arms. "Mama, I want an older sister to play with," Zai Zai begged, nuzzling into Chen Wan's embrace. "Darling, there aren't any children your age in our sector. No older sisters, but plenty of aunties. Maybe you'll find a younger sister to play with. How does that sound?" Chen Wan suggested, trying to placate Zai Zai. "A younger sister, huh? Okay, Mama, where is she?" Zai Zai asked innocently. "Well, why don't you ask Auntie Qi Jing and Auntie Wei Si Yu tomorrow and see if they can get you a little sister? Okay?" Chen Wan teased. Zai Zai nodded earnestly, "Okay, I'll ask Auntie Qi Jing and Auntie Wei Si Yu for a sister." "Good, remember to ask when you see them," Chen Wan continued playfully. Resolute, Zai Zai nodded vigorously, "Okay!" Seeing she had successfully distracted Zai Zai, Chen Wan hugged the little one with affection. After dinner, Ye Lan and her group prepared to return across the street to rest. Jiang Yan Xin took Zai Zai from Chen Wan's arms and handed her to Ye Lan, saying, "Mom, I need to discuss something with Chen Wan tonight. Can Yang Yang stay with you tonight?" Understandingly, Ye Lan nodded, "Of course, no problem. I'll help take care of Yang Yang. Right, Yang Yang?" Zai Zai shook her head, "I want to sleep with Mama and Mommy." Zai Zai clung tightly to her mother, leaving Jiang Yan Xin to coax her, "If you're good and sleep with Grandma tonight, I’ll let you watch an extra two hours of cartoons, plus have a fresh glass of watermelon juice, okay?" Hearing the offer, Zai Zai's eyes sparkled with excitement, and she quickly nodded, "Okay, I like sleeping with Grandma." "You little rascal, I know you too well," Jiang Yan Xin laughed, lightly patting Zai Zai's bottom as she toddled off with her tablet. With Zai Zai out of sight, Chen Wan felt both nervous and thrilled—is Yan Xin planning for some one-on-one time with her? While Chen Wan's mind was still bubbling with anticipation, Jiang Yan Xin returned, holding a bottle of red wine and two glasses. "Why the wine?" Chen Wan asked, slightly apprehensive of the sly grin on her wife's face. "To drink with you, of course, lest you fall into temptation and drink with someone else in the future. Or do you not want to accompany me?" Jiang Yan Xin teased, raising an eyebrow. "No, no, it's only right to drink with my wife. I'm more than willing," Chen Wan quickly responded, eager to please. "Good. Let's go to the bedroom then, so we don’t disturb Qin Ke and the others," Jiang Yan Xin replied with a soft laugh, directing a glance at Chen Wan. Although confused about how their drinking might disturb the others, Chen Wan followed Jiang Yan Xin, compliant and quiet. Once in the room, Jiang Yan Xin had Chen Wan open the wine and pour two glasses. Holding her glass, Chen Wan tentatively suggested, "How about we just drink it straight?" Raising an eyebrow, Jiang Yan Xin's voice had a teasing lilt, "Just like that? How dull, with no sincerity. Tell you what, go change into that nightdress." Feeling slighted, Chen Wan went to inspect the nightdress and found it skimpy—a thin, silky slip that barely reached her thighs. "Is this really for me?" Chen Wan asked, a hint of reluctance in her gaze, though she was willing if Ying Xin wanted to see. Her exaggerated pout cracked up Jiang Yan Xin, who gave her a playful pinch on the side. "Dream on. It's my nightdress. You just sit tight while I take a bath." "Okay, but hurry back," Chen Wan said, cheeks flushed merely by thinking about Jiang Yan Xin in that dress. Her wife was incredibly considerate, indulging her with such eye candy. Sprawling on the bed, she rolled around in delight. In only ten minutes, Jiang Yan Xin emerged, having taken a quick shower, blow-dried her hair, and donned the aforementioned nightdress. Chen Wan was transfixed as she returned and attempted to cuddle Jiang Yan Xin. The latter deftly sidestepped, blocking her path with a gentle poke on the shoulder, "We agreed on a drink, nothing more." Chen Wan, already tipsy and yearning for closeness, reluctantly picked up her wine glass, complying with Jiang Yan Xin's conditions. After another glass, Chen Wan looked plaintively at her, "Wife, I've finished my wine. Yang Yang's not here tonight, so can we go to bed early?" But as she leaned closer, Jiang Yan Xin dodged her advance, sipping from her glass with a soft chuckle. "Remember when we first met in the RV, and you misunderstood my intentions? You sat on my lap and claimed you were straight." Quick to amend her stance, Chen Wan promised, "I'm not straight. It's been ages, and I couldn't be any less so now." Amused, Jiang Yan Xin queried, "Have you changed that quickly? Not straight anymore?" "Mhm," Chen Wan replied, attempting to sidle closer, only for Jiang Yan Xin to skillfully evade her. "Only one glass? That's hardly sincere," Jiang Yan Xin remarked, pouring Chen Wan another full cup. "Finish this, and maybe I'll let you hug me." "Alright, I'll drink," Chen Wan agreed, taking up the challenge and downing the glass. Seeing Chen Wan drink so fast, Jiang Yan Xin feared she'd feel unwell. She fed her a few bites of apple salad to ease the effects. With reddening eyes, Chen Wan leaned in closer. "Wife, can I hold you now?" Watching her inebriated state, Jiang Yan Xin smiled softly, conceding, "Alright, you may hold me, but nothing else." "In that case, I'll drink one more. Then can we do a bit more?" Chen Wan was already feeling woozy but braved another inquiry to secure a kiss sooner. "Okay, another glass earns you a kiss, but take it slow, or you'll regret it," Jiang Yan Xin replied, offering more fruit to Chen Wan. Foggy-minded, Chen Wan draped herself around Jiang Yan Xin, reaching for the wine glass again. She took a few gulps, almost draining it, prompting Jiang Yan Xin to quickly offer more fruit. "No rush, don’t guzzle it all at once; it’ll go to your head." Admittedly a lightweight, Chen Wan struggled with the two-and-a-half glasses she had consumed, and she began to experience double vision as she gazed at Jiang Yan Xin. Her voice softened considerably, "I... I just want to kiss you." With a touch of defiance, Chen Wan wrapped her hand around her glass and gulped down the remaining half. By the time she finished her third glass, her face was flushed, nestled comfortably against Jiang Yan Xin, refusing to move. "Wifey, I drank it all. Can I have that kiss now? I miss you." Hearing Chen Wan's plaintive tone, Jiang Yan Xin's ears tinted with a hint of red. Amused, she lightly tapped Chen Wan's forehead with her forefinger. "Who told you to drink so fast? You're all tipsy now. Silly, I wasn’t going to deny you." Murmuring to herself, Jiang Yan Xin leaned in and gently pressed a kiss onto Chen Wan's lips. Embracing Jiang Yan Xin from behind, Chen Wan savored the kiss, murmuring against her skin, "So sweet. I want more." "Alright, though knowing your tolerance, I should have stopped you earlier," Jiang Yan Xin replied softly, stroking Chen Wan's cheek before leaning in for another kiss. As they kissed, Chen Wan's intoxication deepened, her eyes fluttering shut until she fell asleep against Jiang Yan Xin. Jiang Yan Xin chuckled softly, shaking her head. "I planned on teasing you a bit longer, but now you're out like a light. So much for doing anything else." She tidied the room, gently wiped Chen Wan's face, and carefully laid her on the bed. Slipping in beside her, Jiang Yan Xin lightly pinched Chen Wan's cheek. "I wanted you to pamper me, but here I am taking care of you. Sometimes you're so soft, hardly fitting of an alpha," she teased affectionately.
