416 - Rebirth of a Star: Another Day, Another Drama
### Chapter 416: Emergence and the Tribulation Crossing Immortal Lord! The once bright and sunny sky was now overcast with dark clouds, resembling an apocalyptic scene. Within the churning clouds, there were faint glimpses of lightning. "Papa? The weather changed so quickly today. It was fine just a moment ago. How did it suddenly become this way?" A little girl asked curiously, looking up at the dark clouds overhead. At the foot of a mountain, several families had formed a small village. In the spiritual fields, the little girl kept her gaze fixed on the menacing sky. Her father, a tall man with bronze skin from years of labor, watched the mountain top with a serious expression. Upon spotting the rolling lightning in the clouds, he promptly picked up the girl, saying, "Don't look, hurry back home with me. An immortal is undergoing a tribulation. If they become displeased and something happens, it could be dangerous for you." The father and daughter hurried back to their home. The curious little girl peeked over his shoulder, watching the lightning twist and turn in the sky. Suddenly, her eyes widened with surprise. Among the lightning, she thought she saw a blue figure blending with the storm. The tribulation lasted a long time. Once it ended, the mountain top was bathed in resplendent light, followed by a gentle rain. This rain covered the entire mountain, including its foot. Wherever the rain fell, the celestial herbs and newly planted seeds in the spirit fields thrived remarkably well. "Papa, this rain feels wonderful on my skin," the little girl exclaimed, stretching her hand out toward the rain. Her eyes lit up, and she dashed outside, letting herself be embraced by the rain. "You child, get back inside…" Her father was about to scold her when a clear, calm voice interrupted him. "Let her stay out a while longer. This rain will benefit her." The man turned toward the voice, finding a woman in a blue dress at the doorway. She had long, black hair and was exceptionally beautiful, more so than any immortal he had seen before. "Wow! Pretty sister, I think I saw you in the lightning," the little girl pointed at Ye Linglong in excitement. The father felt a jolt of panic and immediately covered his daughter’s mouth, picking her up. He now understood that the lady before him was the very one who had crossed the tribulation on the mountain. "I apologize, my daughter didn't mean any offense. We hope the immortal will not hold it against us," the man said fearfully, terrified that this powerful being might harm them in displeasure. Contrarily, the child wasn’t scared, her round eyes curiously inspecting Ye Linglong. Ye Linglong, just emerged from her success in tribulation crossing, looked at the anxious man with some exasperation. "I mean no harm. I only lost my way and came to ask for directions." Having just casually chosen a mountain for her seclusion, she couldn’t have anticipated getting lost upon her departure. However, Qian Jun's sarcastic remark that ten thousand years had changed everything didn't help her find her bearings any better. Reluctantly, she descended the mountain to seek directions. "Is it true you're just looking for directions?" Ye Linglong nodded. Seeing her affirmation, the man's terror eased somewhat. "Madame, where do you wish to go? If I know, I will tell you everything I can," he assured earnestly. "I want to find the nearest town," Ye Linglong replied. She intended to buy a map at the nearest town, and from there proceed to the starship port to purchase a ticket straight to the Lower Immortal Realm. Now, with her newly gained status as an Immortal Lord, she could utilize Qian Jun’s assistance to break the seal. Relieved, the man quickly and respectfully provided the directions to the nearest town. To him, immortals were always unpredictable, especially after a neighbor suffered when a passing immortal eradicated his entire family without warning. "Thank you," Ye Linglong acknowledged. Sensing the man's tension, she decided to leave promptly. Any longer, and he might wet himself. The little girl in his arms, however, seemed innocently adorable with her wide, curious eyes, prompting a faint smile from Ye Linglong. Yet just as Ye Linglong was about to depart, preparing to ascend and fly away, a sudden commotion arose behind her. "Let her go! Release my daughter!" The father’s panicked shout reached her ears swiftly. "Papa! Papa!" The little girl’s cries followed, mixed with chaotic noises. Something was wrong. Cold determination flashed in Ye Linglong’s eyes. She turned in her tracks, arriving back almost instantaneously, leaving only a blur behind. "My daughter, let my daughter go! Please, lords, have mercy, she's just a child," the man pleaded, pinned under a foot, unable to move, only able to cry out as his daughter was taken away. "Ha! Your luck that our sect master fancies your daughter. What good life could she possibly have here? Joining our sect ensures a life of luxury, with food, drink, and the chance to learn immortal arts," one of the captors laughed wickedly, holding the little girl. The man's eyes burned red with fury. "Spit! Everyone knows what kind your sect is. None of the girls you take ever return alive. Let my daughter go!" "Hmph!" The leader among the intruders sneered at the man’s defiance, revealing a killing intent. "A mere ant dares insult me? I'll end you," he declared, raising a hand to strike down. The blow, charged with immortal power, was about to land, when a flash of cold light cut through. The assailant's eyes widened, stunned, as his motion stopped, then he collapsed, head rolling away. "Who! Who did this!" Panic seized the remaining group, scanning their surroundings frantically. "The dead do not require many answers," an icy voice echoed. In the next instant, before they could even see what happened, a blue sword light flashed, and heads rolled, all in the blink of an eye.
