Chapter 31: People from Konoha are Indeed Better - The White Eyed Princess of Konoha

### Chapter 31: People from Konoha are Indeed Better "No!" "How could there be none?" The Hyuga clan has a history spanning a thousand years. Even if some secrets were related to the Otsutsuki clan and were destroyed by Hamura Otsutsuki, surely there's still a history of a thousand years' development in the Shinobi world, right? At the Ninja Academy, although there are courses on Shinobi history, the history from the Warring States period is merely glossed over. More attention is given to the brutal wars between ninjas during that period and the idyllic description of the era of ninja villages. History books don't even mention the First Hokage's battle against Madara Uchiha, let alone introduce the power of the First Hokage. The ninja secrecy regulations are nothing short of disrespecting history. Hiashi Hyuga gazed at Hinata and said calmly, "Since you understand the confidentiality requirements of a ninja, you should realize that some things cannot be casually documented. Recklessly recording these could only bring trouble to the family." Considering his words carefully, Hinata felt that Hiashi Hyuga's reasoning seemed somewhat valid. For instance, someone like Orochimaru, who pursues the truth with great zeal, would likely have targeted the Hyuga family long ago if he knew they had records from a thousand years ago. Hiashi Hyuga continued, "In our Hyuga family, many secrets are passed down orally. When you inherit the Hyuga family, I will share these matters with you." Hinata reluctantly nodded, "Alright then!" Having read the source material, Hinata was quite knowledgeable about the Shinobi world's history and didn't need to look up other information. But Hinata wanted some gossip! Like, who were Hamura Otsutsuki and Hagoromo Otsutsuki married to… Plus, Hinata's mind harbors many Shinobi world secrets, yet she doesn’t know how to articulate them. If the Hyuga family had records, the secrets Hinata knows could have explanations. Life went on as usual, and Hinata felt much more relaxed compared to before, with less burden on her mind. Sometimes, Hinata couldn't understand why those rich heirs in her previous life's TV shows hated their families arranging everything for them, feeling as if their lives lacked freedom. Hinata thought about her current life. From birth, everything was arranged by Hiashi Hyuga — from food and clothing to education and training. Attending the Ninja Academy was Hinata's idea, but the post-graduation class assignments were arranged by Hiashi Hyuga. Regarding Hinata's future, if she couldn't become Hokage, she'd have to return home to inherit the family's vast wealth. Isn't that a good thing? Those people really don't know how lucky they are! During the final exams, Naruto once again proved with his actions that there were indeed twenty-seven students in the class. Watching the dejected Naruto sitting on a swing, Hinata hesitated for a moment, then approached him, comforting, "Naruto, don't be too discouraged. Humph! If you hadn't scored so low, Iruka might think he was teaching quite well." The best way to comfort someone is to poke fun at someone else. Seeing someone in a worse situation than yourself can offer a bit of solace. Naruto hastily got off the swing, looking nervously behind Hinata. "Ir... Iruka-sensei!" Hinata: "..." Hinata felt a bit stiff in her neck, slowly turning around to see Iruka standing awkwardly there. "Iruka-sensei!" Hinata took a deep breath and spoke quickly, "My mom's calling me home for dinner. Goodbye, Iruka-sensei!" How terrifying! I hope Iruka won't give me a hard time in class later? Racing back home, Hinata resumed her evening routine of dining, training, and sleeping. Holidays are wonderful, even if the ninja world's break is only a short month. Not going to school means sleeping in. After lazing around at home for seven days, Hiashi Hyuga took Hinata and several Hyuga clan guards to visit some noble allies in the capital of the Land of Fire. Although it was Hinata's first time leaving Konoha, it was dreadfully boring. It wasn't anything but traveling and visiting various people, listening to their fascinating yet diverse compliments, while maintaining etiquette and a noble demeanor. Though the outside world is vast, it doesn't compare to the fun in Konoha. Especially visiting these nobles; as the Hyuga heiress, Hinata couldn't even leave her room except when meeting guests. Hinata initially wanted to sneak out for fun, but she was always caught by Hizashi Hyuga. In the days leading up to the school reopening, Hinata finally returned to Konoha, and felt alive again. On the first day back in Konoha, Hinata gathered her little friends and organized a gathering at the barbecue restaurant. Attendees included: Neji, Shikamaru, Choji, Ino, Sakura, Naruto, and Kiba. Sasuke wouldn’t come, and as for Shino Aburame among the nine rookies, though Hinata remembered his name, she had forgotten about the person himself. That's right! Excluding Sasuke, there were still eight attendees, missing not a single one of the Nine Rookies! "Come on, everyone! Today’s my treat. Have whatever you like to eat and drink. Don’t hold back!" Hinata warmly invited them, although it was only juice being served, she appeared drunk, venting her recent grievances loudly! "You guys have no idea how miserable I’ve been. You thought I went out of the village for fun? Let me tell you, it was nothing of the sort… Boohoo! It was so awful!" Hinata kept lamenting her woes without explaining why, leaving the others, burning with curiosity, nothing but to comfort her. Especially Ino, Sakura, Naruto, Choji, and Neji, who were close to Hinata—not particularly sharp-minded—the only possibly clever Neji, would act foolishly when with Hinata. Ino hugged the lamenting Hinata, soothing her in a gentle voice, "Hinata, don’t be too sad. We could treat you to some meals. Think of the food as your unfortunate experiences, swallow them, and forget all about it." "Yes, yes!" "Hinata, don't be sad!" Hinata looked at everyone with a face ready to cry and weakly asked, "Really?" Ino patted her chest confidently, "Of course it's true. Consider this meal our treat to welcome you back. Tomorrow, Sakura and I will invite you shopping." Hinata hugged Ino, first shooting a 'warning' glance at Shikamaru, though incessantly grateful, "Thank you so much! You guys are really so nice to me!" Shikamaru couldn't help but facepalm. Wasn't Hinata treating this time? How did it end up with them treating her? Oh Ino, be more mindful! Even Shikamaru had to admit, Hinata’s cute and demure appearance was incredibly deceptive; no one would suspect her of cunning! Not an ounce of a ninja's vigilance! The barbecue gathered soothed Hinata’s heart, releasing her pent-up frustration from over half a month. Certainly, Konoha folks are the best (at placating)! They're so enthusiastic.
