410 - I Don’t Want to Be Turned Into the Female Protagonist by the System

Chapter 410: Hooray The Lamborghini was cruising on the Qiu Shi Overpass. Unlike the morning rush, despite the evening congestion, the cars kept a respectful distance from Wang Zijin's formidable vehicle. Su Qi observed the cautious cars around them and mused that perhaps this was the so-called aura of a luxury car. "Honey, how was work today?" Wang Zijin, faced with the stagnant traffic, broke the silence. Su Qi was eager to share with his wife, Wang Zijin. After all, it was his first day at work. Even though he was only officially on duty for less than two hours, it was still a novel experience! Listening to her husband enthusiastically recount tales from his sister's company intrigued Wang Zijin. But when Director Yang asked her husband to present his analysis, she frowned. Though Wang Zijin was not deeply entrenched in the corporate world, she had opened her own hospital and often dealt with senior colleagues. She knew her husband was set up. Yet seeing his cheerful expression, Wang Zijin knew her sister must have resolved the issue. The two chatted along the way. Wang Zijin knew her sister was a director and knew the company’s location, but she had never visited. Recalling Su Qi’s tales of slacking in comparison brought Wang Zijin back to her early days at the university. She remembered the seniors complaining about her sister's lax attitude; it was amusing to think she continued this even at work. Worry crept back to Wang Zijin, though. Her husband, while highly intelligent, was emotionally naive, unlike her cunning sister. She dreaded the thought of her husband being taken advantage of. Warnings to her husband about mingling less with her sister and more with others lingered on her mind. Yet, caution arose from tales of young women being deceived online. Despite her husband’s distinct identity as a male, his innocent eyes, sweet voice, and almost flawless appearance gave Wang Zijin pause. She sighed slightly; having such a charming husband posed its own challenges, especially with so many eyes on him. When Su Qi returned to the dormitory, it was already 6 PM. Upon their return, Xiao Xiao eagerly set aside her enormous medical textbook and approached with excitement, asking, "Su Sister, was work interesting?" Gu Panpan also glanced over curiously. Su Qi's job aligned with her field, and she wanted to gather insights and perhaps prepare herself in advance. Though Su Qi had shared his experiences with Wang Zijin, he saw no harm in sharing his joy again. The only downside was that his wife, An Ning, was still busy. He could share with her later! Listening to Su Qi’s stories, Xiao Xiao found work indescribably fascinating. Her eyes shone with longing. Wanting nothing more than to stay close to Su Sister at work, she asked, "Su Sister, can I go with you tomorrow?" Su Qi was momentarily startled by Xiao Xiao's request. He gently pulled her smooth, delicate face and teased, "You've just started school, and you want to skip class already? Naughty!" After a playful struggle, Xiao Xiao freed herself, feeling a slight breeze of triumph from her little victory against Su Qi. She found Su Sister's grip had lessened! Despite Su Qi not exerting force, Xiao Xiao's cheeks bore a faint blush from the playful pinch. Rubbing her cheeks, Xiao Xiao pouted, “It’s not that I’m naughty. The textbook is just too simple, and I've memorized everything the teacher assigned!” Su Qi wasn’t surprised; Xiao Xiao was exceptionally intelligent. Coupled with her basic medical knowledge from the textbook, this feat wasn't difficult for her. Though it seemed understandable to Su Qi, Gu Panpan and Wang Zijin found it unbelievable. Medicine was never meant to be easy, with Xiao Xiao as a rare exception. Especially for Wang Zijin, whose family owned a hospital, memories of her brother cramming like a soulless zombie during university still lingered. Yet, this little girl, Xiao Xiao, declared it simple. Sensing their skepticism, Xiao Xiao thought for a moment and handed her textbook to Wang Zijin. "Sister Zijin, the teacher asked me to memorize this part. I’ve got it all down; feel free to quiz me!" Gu Panpan was taken aback, marveling at the heavy medical textbook in disbelief. To ask a new student to memorize its entirety on the first day seemed excessive! In truth, the teacher asked Xiao Xiao to focus on certain key points. But for medical students, "key points" often translated to "everything." Students typically marked these with different colored pens. Observing seniors mark key points in class, Xiao Xiao decided memorizing the entire book was more efficient than marking. Medical students might be outraged by her audacity, seeing their laborious notes rendered redundant. Wang Zijin quizzed her with questions from the pristine book; Xiao Xiao’s perfect answers left her astonished. Even knowing the likely outcome, Su Qi was still impressed. The jargon-heavy medical text could be a tongue-twister! "Su Sister, can I go to your company tomorrow? I really want to experience it." Facing Xiao Xiao's eager eyes and hearing her cute voice, Su Qi thought for a moment and shook his head. Having just started at the company, bringing along a newbie might not be the best idea for his budding career. Wang Zijin, however, found Xiao Xiao's suggestion intriguing. Her earlier concern over her sister's potential mischief seemed alleviated. With Xiao Xiao as an adorable spy, they could gather insights from within. Excited by this plan, Wang Zijin promptly called her sister. Just reaching home, Wang Yun answered her sister's call, briefly startled, fearing their affair was exposed. But her sister's calm tone reassured her otherwise. After small talk, Wang Yun quickly understood her sister’s real motive. Hearing that the cute girl she met this morning wanted to visit the company, Wang Yun agreed readily, intrigued by her sister-in-law's presence. Ending the call, Wang Zijin gleefully shared the news with the once-disheartened Xiao Xiao, whose vibrant cheer filled the dorm room: “Hooray!” Friendly Reminder: This site uses cookies to save "reading history" and "bookshelf".
