Volume 5 Chapter 0122 I am 'God' - I, The Dragon Overlord
The meeting in the Pantheon had dispersed. At the behest of His Majesty, Louie, all the deities returned to their divine realms to make preparations. Among them, some gods might be disingenuous, while others might be proactive. However, as Louie predicted, more gods were likely to be proactive. He employed nothing but open strategies. By placing himself and the Devil King, Asmodeus, on the scales simultaneously, he believed that as long as the gods were not foolish, they would make the correct choice. Since the emergence of a Supreme God was an unstoppable situation, it was already clear whether this individual would side with the gods or the devils. Louie only gave the gods three days to prepare. Although the time was a bit rushed, he feared that granting them too much time might allow them to devise other means to break the situation. Thus, he needed to act swiftly, so that before the gods could conceive of better plans and paths, the outcome would emerge. This was also why Louie didn’t immediately deal with the rebellious Earth Goddess and God of War among others. He did not intend to intimidate or eliminate them, as he was in need of formidable subordinates. Both the Earth Goddess and the God of War possessed sufficiently high divine status, making them ideal allies in his fight against Asmodeus. Whether or not he would settle accounts with them after becoming the Supreme God was a matter for later consideration. Once he achieved that status, even true gods would be like ants; he could let them live or end their existence at will. Pondering this, Louie, who was in the "Sleeping Dragon Temple," took a deep breath. He sat on his throne, supporting his chin with one hand, eyes closed as if in slumber. Suddenly, his avatar opened its eyes. The vertical dragon pupils shone with an endless starlight as his gaze swept over the subordinate gods standing below, who looked at him with complex expressions. As Louie's gaze fell upon them, the God of Good Dragons, God of Evil Dragons, and Goddess of Wealth all lowered their heads, expressing their respect for their primary god, for the sole majesty. Given Louie’s current strength, killing those gods with minor to weak divine strength would be as easy as a flick. Whereas once their respect for Louie was mingled with awe, now there was a hint of fear. It’s rare for immortal gods to experience fear. “Do any of you have something to say?” Louie asked with a serene expression after a moment of quiet. Heloise, the God of Good Dragons, and Danluciel, the Goddess of Wealth, shuddered, their lips parting as if to speak, but ultimately remaining silent, too afraid to utter a word. The God of Evil Dragons, despite being a brutal and evil giant dragon, maintained a gentlemanly and elegant human form. Adjusting the crystal magic glasses perched on his nose, Drexler humbly bowed to Louie, his dragon eyes filled with fervor and excitement, “... Congratulations to our deity for standing above all gods, becoming the true sovereign!” “Oh? You don’t seem troubled at all, Lord Drexler. Aren’t you disappointed? Your freedom as a deity has been curbed somewhat. Tell me your truth,” Louie leaned slightly forward, looking at the evil dragon before him with interest. Despite the respect he showed Drexler, he omitted any honorifics in his address. The God of Evil Dragons, Drexler, took a deep breath, revealing sharp, dragon-like teeth. In response to Louie's inquiry, his body quivered with excitement, “… Because the one who has become the one and only majesty is you, the king of us dragons, the true god of us dragons!” “As a god, I should be dissatisfied with this result, but as a dragon, it’s only natural to submit to a stronger dragon. With your benevolence, you might not favor dragons specifically, but the sole majesty of the San Soliel world is the god of our dragon race. What other race in this world could be more noble and magnificent than dragons?” Louie laughed quietly at this. Clearly, this evil dragon was a fervent martialist and had an ardent love for the dragon race: his pride in his race and identity was apparent. This was why, back then, he willingly forsook the temptation of the Divine Role of Dragon God to assist Louie in overcoming the crisis. “I understand your thoughts, Lord Drexler. Since you’re so content, go ahead and celebrate... As for the rest of my subordinate gods, I won't impose excess demands on you. Displaying your loyalty to me will suffice.” Louie said with a faint smile. Now, gods didn’t hold much importance for him. As long as they helped him defeat Asmodeus, and he became a Supreme God, he would reach the apex among the gods. Though theoretically, the highest divine rank could reach level 40, even if Louie became the Supreme God, he would only have a divine rank of 21. However, further increases in divine rank from that point would not result in qualitative change, only quantitative. Moreover, based on Louie's analysis and calculations using the artificial intelligence, his conclusion was that the San Soliel world’s limits end here. Once he truly grasped the Order Serpent, he could physically support the entire world. And if he absorbed the Chaos Serpent, he would essentially become the world itself, rendering the world incapable of further enhancement for him. Yet, the artifact of the Terran civilization gave Louie the prospect of further ascension. Since the limits of the San Soliel world were already reached, all he needed was to explore new worlds. Perhaps in one of these new worlds, he would find an opportunity for evolution again. Although the individual power of gods is strong, and the power of a Supreme God is nearly infinite, the gods of the San Soliel world cannot break free of the world boundary, which is its greatest flaw. The Terran civilization Louie controls provides a means to surpass this limitation. ‘But these thoughts will have to wait until I’ve dealt with Asmodeus and truly become the Order Serpent. My current main objective is still to eliminate Asmodeus; perhaps someday, I will be able to encompass the multiverse.’ Louie quelled his stirring thoughts and once again sat on his throne, closing his eyes for a brief rest. Even though he believed the situation was foolproof, his mind continued to work at high speed, searching for possible failure probabilities, while also preparing Terran civilization’s weapons of mass destruction outside of the world for a doomsday scenario. He always hedged his bets and never risked it all on one throw. At this moment, Louie opened his draconic eyes once more, looking beyond his divine realm, he spoke lightly, “… Princess Selune has arrived here, and it seems Princess Shar has many questions for me as well. Very well then, I do have true feelings for Princess Selune. Since she’s here, I shall see her.” Initially, when Louie transformed from a human into a dragon, his nature grew akin to a dragon with immense desires. However, even the identity of being a dragon now seemed a lower life form, a shackle of life. A god isn’t a race; it’s more like an occupation. But now Louie’s race can only be described as 'God.' His evolutionary path is no longer that of a singular entity like a dragon, but an omnipresent, omniscient aggregation of concepts!
