Volume 5 Chapter 0123 Only submit to Your Majesty - I, The Dragon Overlord

Outside Louie Galakrond's divine realm, Dragonblight, the incarnation of the Moon Goddess Selune stood, awaiting the owner's permission to enter. Though most divine realms are open to the public, allowing anyone with the ability to traverse planes to visit and gain experience, it remains customary for a deity to announce their entry into another's domain. Such protocol prevents misunderstandings where an unannounced visitor might be seen as an intruder by the realm's owner. Now that Louie has ascended to the esteemed status of the sole emperor among gods, proper respect must be shown before entering his realm, and this applies even to the Moon Goddess Selune. Selune's incarnation was an exquisitely beautiful elf, with hair cascading down her shoulders like moonlight, wearing a gown woven from moonlight itself. Her features were profound and serene, with long, graceful legs and mesmerizing emerald green eyes that exuded a noble and elegant aura, much like a high and distant crescent moon. Her incarnation changes with the moon's phases, sometimes appearing as a young maiden, other times as a mature woman, or even as a youthful girl. Even the moonlight that always envelopes her varies, sometimes dim and sometimes radiant, depending on the moon's state. As Selune prepared to step into Dragonblight upon receiving Louie's permission, she paused, her gaze shifting to the side. From the void emerged a mysterious lady shrouded in dark mist, her face hidden behind a veil that obscured her features, drawing one's attention as though into a black hole that seemed to consume one's very soul. The one standing beside the Moon Goddess was none other than Shar, Lady of the Night. She was dressed in attire befitting a dancer, accentuating her lithe figure, her onyx skin gleaming with an otherworldly sheen. Her eyes sparkled like stars amidst the mist that surrounded her. "Shar, what brings you here?" Selune's face turned wary. Though Shar was merely a medium-powerful deity currently presenting only an incarnation, Selune still dared not underestimate her. In the pantheon, Shar had been the first to submit to Louie, leading many gods to suspect it was a preconceived plan between Shar and Louie. Thus, Selune feared potentially dangerous traps. Louie had previously concealed Shar, deceiving Selune once. Though the misunderstanding was later cleared in a private conversation with Louie, who explained things, another act of deception left Selune doubtful of the authenticity of their previous reconciliations. The ever-scheming dragon and deceitful god, much like the boy who cried wolf, had exhausted every means to reach the pinnacle. This left even Selune, one closest to him, unable to fully trust him anymore. Yet Louie did not regret his choices. A great achievement sometimes requires sacrificing minor details. Should he become the God of Gods, he believed trust and authority could be slowly regained with invincible power and the passage of time. When he controlled the entire world, how could he fear losing a relationship with a single goddess? "Relax, Selune! I was merely curious to see you here in Dragonblight. I thought you might be disillusioned with my Master, adhering instead to military preparations within your Gates of the Moon." Shar's voice resonated with mystique, like a distant echo from the universe's furthest reaches. Her laughter was enchanting yet chillingly hollow, instilling fear in any who heard it. "Could it be that after all this time with Shuni, you've also succumbed to love, developing unusual feelings for my Master?" Shar spoke provocatively, continuously referring to Louie as 'my Master,' insinuating a close relationship with him to provoke Selune's insecurities. However, Selune, as Shar's elder sister, had endured millions of years of Shar's antics. She knew well enough that Shar's words were as untrustworthy as Louie's, disciplined not to react to Shar's provocations, always maintaining her composure. Sometimes Selune admitted that Shar and Louie were remarkably suited for each other. Both gods were shrouded in mystery, each harboring unknown secrets. Their words were never to be believed outright, always hiding possible conspiracies. Trusting them would only bring misery upon the gods. Three thousand years ago, Shar nearly ruined them. Now, thirty centuries later, it's Louie who's unsettling the divine order. Selune's expression remained unchanged as she calmly responded, "Shar, I'll concede a point. After spending so much time with Louie, I do have genuine affections for Him and deep gratitude." "However, my visit today is not personal. I represent the gods, seeking Louie's perspective on divinity." Shar knew precisely why Selune was there. Due to Selune's close relationship with Louie, she often represented the gods, offering greetings and feeling out Louie's views. This was Selune's main intent, for when a deity ascended above the entire pantheon, no god could act on their whims anymore. They had to consider Louie's opinions before acting, ensuring nothing would offend him. The existence of the Fate Tablet loomed like the Sword of Damocles over the gods. Should Louie wish, He could annihilate any of them. It’s only through a collective effort and great sacrifice from the gods that they might defeat Louie. Yet the gods were ultimate self-serving beings, unwilling to be that sacrifice. Therefore, they adapted to living under Louie’s rules and order. “Well, don’t take my blocking your path the wrong way, Selune. I merely wish to ascertain your purpose. Should your intentions displease my Master, as his servant, it’s my duty to prevent your entry.” Shar's eyes twinkled like stars, her laughter as mesmerizing as a siren's song, projecting loyalty akin to Louie's confidant. Selune glanced at Shar, retorting, "Since when did the great Lady of the Night become another god’s lapdog? Seeing you now is truly disappointing." "Scoff not, Selune! Have not even the gods submitted to Louie? You yourself dare not defy him, so what's there to mock in me?" Shar countered mockingly but felt an immense internal conflict. Succumbing to another deity was a hard pill for proud Shar to swallow. However, the current situation left resistance futile. Her entanglement in Louie’s powers left her without choices, subject to his dominance. In silence, the sisters passed into Dragonblight, transmitting through space. Born after the primordial Serpent of Order and Chaos, their current submission to Louie, a god less than five centuries old, bore testament to the world's unpredictability. In submission, all they could do was to come to terms with the ever-changing tide of fate.
